One of our favorite moments has been watching students use the All-In-One Magnetic Phonics Kits to build words, change sounds, and reread them aloud. Students who were previously hesitant to read are now eagerly raising their hands to show how they built a word or to explain how changing one sound creates a new word.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were excited and curious. They immediately wanted to touch the magnetic letters, explore the tiles, and ask when they could start using them. Seeing their enthusiasm and engagement was incredibly rewarding, especially for students who often feel frustrated during reading time.\r\n\r\nThe Eyewords sound-mapped sight word cards have become a favorite during warm-ups. Students enjoy breaking words apart by sound and noticing patterns, and they are becoming more confident and automatic when reading high-frequency words. The handwriting and phonics stamps have also made writing practice more accessible, helping students focus on their learning rather than struggling with spacing or letter formation.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include continuing to build phonics skills by blending and segmenting more complex words, applying these skills to decodable texts, and transferring them into writing. As students grow more confident, we will use these tools to support longer reading and writing tasks. Thanks to our donors, my students now have engaging, hands-on resources that are helping them grow into confident, capable readers and writers.","fullyFundedDate":1768938287768,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-phonics-for-strong-readers/10012789/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Phonics for Strong Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Chapin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9349848"},{"teacherId":8151003,"projectId":5961133,"letterContent":"The beads and looms we received have continued to be incredibly meaningful for my students. They are actively using these materials to create beadwork that reflects traditional patterns and personal designs, allowing them to practice fine motor skills, focus, and patience while also engaging deeply with their cultural heritage. What began as a simple classroom activity has grown into a space for storytelling, pride, and connection.\r\nWhen the students first saw the beads and looms, their reactions were immediate and genuine. Several students shared stories about family members who bead, and others were excited to learn a skill they had seen practiced at home or in their community. There was a strong sense of pride as they realized this was not just a craft, but a continuation of a tradition that matters. For many of them, seeing these materials in the classroom sent a powerful message that their culture is valued and respected at school.\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue to build on these skills by creating more complex patterns and learning about the meaning behind different designs. They are also beginning to reflect on the process through writing and discussion, connecting perseverance, creativity, and cultural identity to our classroom learning goals. Thanks to our donors, these materials are not a one-time project—they are an ongoing part of our classroom that helps students stay connected to who they are while they learn.","fullyFundedDate":1638331631110,"projectUrl":"project/seed-beads-for-blooming-minds/5961133/","projectTitle":"Seed Beads For Blooming Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Martin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8151003"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_83104","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":121,"numTeachers":14,"percentFrplEligible":90,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":9,"percentIndigenous":77,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"8.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":46.2,"schoolId":83104,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Natchez Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Natchez Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nevada/washoe-county-school-district/natchez-elementary-school/83104"}
