Your contribution has made an extraordinary difference in our classroom and has directly impacted the literacy development of our students.\r\n\r\nWhen I created this project request, my goal was simple yet crucial: to build a diverse, leveled library of small group reading materials that would allow me to meet each student where they are academically. Reading instruction is not one-size-fits-all, and your donation has enabled me to provide differentiated, engaging texts that support students at multiple reading levels simultaneously. This flexibility is transformative for teaching.\r\n\r\nThe collection you've funded includes engaging stories, informational texts, and guided readers across various difficulty levels. This variety has allowed me to create flexible reading groups based on student needs rather than rigid grade-level expectations. I can now pull together students working on similar skills—whether that's decoding, fluency, comprehension, or critical thinking—and provide them with texts that challenge them appropriately without frustration.\r\n\r\nWhat I've witnessed since receiving these books has been remarkable. Students who previously felt discouraged by reading are now participating actively in small group lessons. They're making connections, asking questions, and most importantly, they're building confidence. I've watched struggling readers develop fluency as they work through engaging narratives at their level, and advanced readers deepen their comprehension skills with more complex texts. Every student is progressing.","fullyFundedDate":1775958951991,"projectUrl":"project/spark-the-joy-of-reading/10161836/","projectTitle":"Spark the JOY of Reading!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rainier","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10401976_orig.png?crop=485,485,x0,y3&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768418620061","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10401976"},{"teacherId":10401976,"projectId":10090968,"letterContent":"On behalf of my students and our entire classroom community, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your incredible support in funding our \"I Survived\" book series project through Ðǿմ«Ã½. Your generosity has transformed our classroom library and, more importantly, has ignited a passion for reading in young minds who needed it most.\r\n\r\nWhen I submitted this project request, I had a specific vision: to provide my students with engaging, accessible literature that would help them discover the joy of reading while developing critical thinking skills. The \"I Survived\" series does exactly that. These books combine compelling historical narratives with age-appropriate adventure and emotion, creating the perfect bridge for reluctant readers and eager learners alike.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has made an immediate and visible impact. The moment the books arrived, my classroom buzzed with excitement. Students who typically avoid the library corner now rush to claim their copies during independent reading time. I've witnessed quiet, shy students animatedly discussing plot twists with their peers, and struggling readers tackling increasingly challenging texts with newfound confidence. These moments reminded me why I teach—and why donors like you are absolutely essential to public education.\r\n\r\nBeyond the immediate enthusiasm, this collection has become a cornerstone of our classroom culture. We use these books for guided reading groups, literature circles, and independent reading assignments. Students are learning about resilience, courage, and historical events through characters they genuinely care about. Parents have told me their children are reading at home for pleasure, something they haven't done in years. That's the power of the right book in the right hands at the right time.\r\n\r\nWhat truly moves me is knowing that your donation goes far beyond a simple transaction. You've invested in equity and access. Not every family can afford to purchase books for their children. Not every student has a home library or the resources to visit a bookstore. By funding classroom libraries, you're ensuring that all students—regardless of their socioeconomic background—have equal opportunities to experience the transformative power of reading.\r\n\r\nYour support also sends a powerful message to my students: adults in this community believe in their potential and are willing to invest in their futures. That matters profoundly. When students see that strangers care enough to donate resources to their education, it builds their confidence and sense of belonging.","fullyFundedDate":1773696986668,"projectUrl":"project/i-survived-books-help-us-fall-in-love-wi/10090968/","projectTitle":"I Survived Books-Help Us Fall in Love with Historical Fiction!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rainier","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10401976_orig.png?crop=485,485,x0,y3&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768418620061","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10401976"},{"teacherId":8117667,"projectId":10047363,"letterContent":"I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your incredible generosity in providing my third grade students with warm clothing and food. Your generosity arrived at a moment when we needed it most. A sudden pipe burst damaged many of our learning materials and the cozy, flexible spaces students rely on for focus and comfort. Because of you, we were able to replace what we lost and create an even more supportive environment for our learners.\r\n\r\nThese items have made an immediate and meaningful difference. The new rug now serves as our central gathering space — warm, inviting, and large enough for whole-group instruction and small-circle discussions. Students naturally gravitate to it for read-alouds, morning meetings, and collaborative lessons. The soft surface makes transitions smoother and gives children a comfortable place to sit, stretch, and connect with peers.\r\n\r\nThe bean bags and flex pads have become favorites for students who need alternative seating. Many of our children are kinesthetic learners or simply need to move a bit while they concentrate. Having choices — a bean bag for gentle rocking, a flex pad to perch on while writing, or a quiet corner to read — helps students self-regulate and stay engaged. These seating options respect individual learning styles and give students agency over how they work best.\r\n\r\nFidget items are a quiet but powerful tool in our classroom toolkit. For students who need small sensory input to remain focused, these tools help channel excess energy without disrupting learning. I've seen children who previously became overwhelmed or distracted remain calm and participate fully when given a discreet fidget to use. This subtle support increases time-on-task and fosters greater independence.\r\n\r\nBeyond the practical benefits, your donation has sent a message to our students: their learning environment matters, and they are worthy of care. After the pipe burst, morale dipped — both for students and staff. Replacing these items signaled recovery and renewal. Children now enter the classroom with visible excitement, and teachers feel better equipped to meet diverse needs. The classroom culture is calmer, more inclusive, and more focused on learning.\r\n\r\nYour kindness also frees up limited classroom funds for curriculum materials and enrichment activities. Because you stepped in, I can prioritize instructional resources that further enrich learning rather than replacing damaged basics. That ripple effect will be felt all year long.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my students and myself, thank you. You've restored not just furniture and supplies but a sense of normalcy and comfort for children who deserve the best possible start to each school day. Our school year has just begun, but already, I have seen the difference a few nice supplies can do to help our students feel safe and welcomed in our classroom. \r\n\r\nEach morning we start our morning meeting sitting on our new carpet reviewing our day, the expectations and anything special. The students love to pick their favorite color on the carpet which also means they can have a designated spot to sit without worrying about spacing themselves out. We often find ourselves during other parts of the day (reading time, recess, small groups) using our carpet and the cushions to spread around the room and complete our work. The students are also really enjoying the light covers as well as the calming corner kit. The covers on the light provide enough light to keep the classroom bright for work, but not too much that it is harsh and overwhelming for the students. I often find some students looking at the lights and using the calming strips on their desk during quiet time. The calming kit has been a huge help for our students who have needed a little extra support and guidance for what we call \"our big emotions\". The students absolutely love the weighted bear and taking some time to hug it and calm their body.\r\n\r\nGetting the opportunity to provide my students with a safe and sensory friendly environment to learn and grow has meant more to me and my students than you can imagine! In the past, students have complained if I turned on the overhead lights because it was too bright. Now, they love turning them on and seeing the clouds \"in the sky\". We are looking forward to many more days of learning in our calming and sensory friendly classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1748525306095,"projectUrl":"project/helping-students-find-peace-and-focus-in/9353470/","projectTitle":"Helping Students Find Peace and Focus in the Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hallquist","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6245498_orig.jpg?crop=1074,1074,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747335572505","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6245498"},{"teacherId":9858165,"projectId":9206831,"letterContent":"Thank you for your donations and contributions to my students!
