Each drawer is clearly labeled and holds a specific color, item, or tool so students can quickly find what they're looking for without interrupting instruction. We've also stocked the cart with essentials like hand sanitizer and tissues to promote responsibility and care for our shared space. Soon, we will be adding a tape dispenser so students can independently complete projects from start to finish.\r\nThe hanging bags have become dedicated homes for student headphones and book buddies, keeping these important learning tools organized and easy to access. We also used the zip-top bags to organize math manipulatives into individual sets. Now, instead of waiting for materials to be passed out, students can simply grab the bag they need and get started right away.\r\nThis system has saved valuable instructional time, reduced classroom clutter, and most importantly, built student independence. Our students feel empowered when they can solve small problems on their own, gather their materials confidently, and return them responsibly.\r\nBecause of you, our classroom runs more smoothly, learning time has increased, and our students are developing the organizational skills they will carry with them for years to come.\r\nThank you for helping us create a space where independence, responsibility, and learning thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1768701992907,"projectUrl":"project/organized-and-independent-helping-first/9910432/","projectTitle":"Organized and Independent: Helping First Graders Take Charge!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cincotta","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9732278"},{"teacherId":9732278,"projectId":10032823,"letterContent":"Because of your incredible generosity, our students are warmer, more comfortable, and better able to focus on learning this winter.\r\n\r\nThanks to your $1,000 contribution, we were able to purchase jackets and gloves for students across our school who otherwise would have faced the cold without proper winter clothing. Every single jacket and pair of gloves distributed through this project was made possible entirely by your support.\r\n\r\nFor many of our students, these were not just extra items — they were essential. Some children were coming to school in light sweatshirts during freezing temperatures. Others had outgrown last year's coat and had nothing that fit. Being cold affects more than comfort; it affects concentration, attendance, and overall well-being.\r\n\r\nIn partnership with another generous donation, we combined resources to reach as many students as possible. Together, we were able to expand our impact and ensure that even more children received warm jackets this season. The smiles, relief, and gratitude from families were immediate and heartfelt.\r\n\r\nBecause of you:\r\n\r\nStudents can walk to school warm and protected.\r\n\r\nFamilies experienced one less financial burden.\r\n\r\nChildren can focus on learning instead of the cold.\r\n\r\nYour kindness did more than provide clothing — it provided dignity, comfort, and care.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of our students, families, and school community, thank you for investing in our children and for showing them that people beyond our walls believe in them.","fullyFundedDate":1768707506723,"projectUrl":"project/a-school-built-on-warmth-and-care/10032823/","projectTitle":"A School Built on Warmth and Care","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cincotta","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9732278"},{"teacherId":3088464,"projectId":10051271,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation. Rather than rushing to get a pet right away, students are learning the importance of preparing an animal's environment carefully and responsibly before it ever arrives. Through this process, they are gaining an understanding that animals have specific needs and that proper care starts long before a pet is introduced into a space. This has encouraged thoughtful discussions about responsibility, patience, and respect for living things.\r\nAs we assemble the tank, students are actively learning about aquatic ecosystems, including plants, water quality, and how different components work together to support life. They eagerly observe each stage of the setup and ask questions about how fish survive, what they need to thrive, and why certain steps cannot be skipped. Even though the pea puffers have not arrived yet, students are deeply invested—brainstorming names, making predictions, and excitedly sharing their ideas (including frequent attempts to convince me that a shark might also be a good classroom pet!).\r\nThis ongoing project has sparked curiosity, collaboration, and genuine excitement for science learning. Students feel a sense of ownership over the tank because they are part of the process, not just the end result. Your support is helping transform our classroom into a hands-on learning environment where students are building empathy, scientific understanding, and long-term responsibility in a way that is meaningful and memorable.","fullyFundedDate":1764712641403,"projectUrl":"project/swimming-toward-joy-bringing-pea-puffer/9855720/","projectTitle":"Swimming Toward Joy: Bringing Pea Puffers to Our Class!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cincotta","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9732278"},{"teacherId":9732278,"projectId":9855380,"letterContent":"The addition of these new items to our classroom store has had an immediate and positive impact on our students. When the students learned that new rewards had arrived, the excitement was palpable. Many of them spent time carefully exploring the options, talking with classmates about what they hoped to earn, and setting personal goals for what they want to save their tickets for. This enthusiasm has made the classroom store feel fresh and meaningful again, renewing student interest in working toward positive behavior and effort.\r\nSince the new items were introduced, students have become more intentional about earning and saving their classroom tickets. Rather than spending tickets impulsively, many students are now actively choosing to save throughout the week so they have a chance to purchase one of the new toys. This has led to increased self-control, delayed gratification, and goal-setting—skills that are especially important for young learners and students who benefit from structured, tangible reinforcement.\r\nOverall, these new classroom store items have strengthened our positive behavior system and boosted student motivation across the day. Students are more engaged, more focused on meeting expectations, and genuinely proud of the progress they are making toward their goals. Your support has helped turn everyday positive choices into meaningful opportunities for growth, excitement, and confidence in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1768326256827,"projectUrl":"project/motivated-minds-earning-saving-and-le/9855380/","projectTitle":"Motivated Minds: Earning, Saving, and Learning Together","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cincotta","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9732278"},{"teacherId":7909287,"projectId":9779913,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for making it possible for my students to participate in this incredible experience with Kwame Alexander. Because of your generosity, my class has had the opportunity to learn directly from a celebrated author in a way that truly motivated and excited them about reading and writing.\r\n\r\nAs of December, we have participated in two live virtual webinars, and both experiences were engaging, inspiring, and thoughtfully designed for students. Each 45-minute session included a lively book talk and read-aloud, a short but powerful writing craft lesson, and opportunities for students to hear from special guest authors. The live Q&A was especially meaningful—my students were thrilled to see their questions acknowledged and answered in real time by Kwame Alexander himself.\r\n\r\nOne of the biggest highlights for my students was learning about rhythm, rhyme, and repetition in poetry in such a fun and accessible way. Kwame's energy and passion made poetry feel exciting and achievable, even for students who are usually hesitant readers or writers. Many students left the sessions eager to try new writing techniques and share their own poems.\r\n\r\nThis experience was far from \"one and done.\" The lasting impact has been clear in our classroom. Students now reference Kwame Alexander's advice during writing time, take more risks with word choice, and show increased confidence when reading and writing independently. Most importantly, they see themselves as real readers and writers. I love being able to add this as a resource because it allows my students to learn outside of the classroom from a famous author—while still being right here in the classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in an experience that supports literacy, creativity, and a genuine love of learning. We are so excited for what's still to come and deeply grateful for your support in making this possible for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1760706572753,"projectUrl":"project/author-study-with-kwame-alexander/9779913/","projectTitle":"Author Study with Kwame Alexander","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Aponte","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7909287_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1629947309618","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7909287"},{"teacherId":7909287,"projectId":9660403,"letterContent":"Thank you again for your generosity. We are using the new seat pockets, mesh pouches, and stools every single day to keep our reading and writing block running smoothly. Seat pockets now hold students' independent reading books and extra coloring utensils, which has freed up valuable desk space and reduced clutter. During a recent writing workshop, students were able to quickly grab their notebooks and headphones from their mesh pouches to listen to revision feedback without interrupting others. \r\n\r\nThe students were genuinely excited and immediately wanted to help set everything up. They felt proud to have their own organized space and loved having clear systems for their belongings. Several students commented on how much easier it was to keep their desks clean and how \"grown-up\" the classroom felt with everything in its place.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our reading and writing units, students will be diving deeper into independent reading, small-group instruction, and the writing process. With their materials organized and accessible, students are better prepared to focus on reading stamina, thoughtful writing revisions, and peer feedback.
