Everyday they were awaiting the arrival of our new carpet when I told them it was coming! It has become a place for them to learn without distractions, collaborate with peers, allowed me to coteach with our multi language coach , and so much more! Now with condensing the carpet space to a carpet that is smaller we are experiencing way less behavior problems and unsafe behaviors! We are still able to do gonoodles for shake breaks and our students know to stay on their smiley faces! These journals have helped them grow in their fine motor skills, their ability to label their work, and even started to create sentences to match their picture. Our students were so excited to receive their journals and their headphones. I have been able to give 6 students a pair of headphones that did not have one. The students also love to track their data and see how far they have grown or set goals for their next data point with the graph paper! These tactile materials allow the children to explore greating groups, working out multiplication problems while having fun, making abstract concepts more tangible and engaging for young learners.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the playdough, we received multiplication pop-it boards to support math instruction. These boards serve as an interactive tool to help students practice and memorize their multiplication tables, which is a crucial skill at this stage of their third grade math education. The hands-on nature of these boards encourages active participation and makes learning math facts less intimidating, helping to build confidence in their abilities.\r\n\r\nTo keep the classroom organized and efficient, whiteboard markers and erasers were also included. These supplies are essential for daily lessons, enabling teachers to clearly present information and for students to actively engage during class exercises. The availability of fresh markers and erasers fosters an environment conducive to focused learning and collaboration. Even more importantly, they learn patience, empathy, and sustainability as they care for these plants and watch them flourish.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first realized we would be moving some of our native pollinator plants to the main entrance of our school, they were thrilled. They immediately began making plans for how to keep the plants healthy and beautiful throughout the hot summer months. Thanks to the supplies you provided, they now have the tools needed to water and care for these transplants, ensuring that both the plants and pollinators thrive. Seeing their excitement as they take on the responsibility of nurturing these spaces has been incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include using the new space as a hands-on learning lab where students can observe the interdependence of plants and pollinators. This project will provide daily opportunities for them to connect science lessons with the world around them and to see how their efforts directly benefit the environment.
