We focused on several key skills throughout the unit, including determining the meanings of challenging words and figurative language, analyzing the impact of literary devices, and citing strong textual evidence to support their ideas during class discussions and written responses.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is an active, joyful experience. Students took on character roles and read the play aloud each day, bringing the world of Verona to life. They loved choosing parts, experimenting with expression, and truly getting into character. Their enthusiasm was contagious—students arrived eager to participate and excited to continue the story.\r\n\r\nBecause they were so engaged, their comprehension and confidence grew tremendously. Students who were hesitant readers at the start of the unit became eager to analyze scenes, debate character motivations, and make connections to their own lives.\r\n\r\nThis project made all of that possible. Thank you for giving my students the chance to experience Shakespeare in a way that felt accessible, meaningful, and fun. Your support had a direct impact on both their learning and their love of reading.","fullyFundedDate":1765480272762,"projectUrl":"project/every-mind-deserves-macbeth-supporting/9629693/","projectTitle":"Every Mind Deserves Macbeth: Supporting Literacy in Special Education","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cooney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3959006_orig.jpg?crop=197,197,x148,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755692529682","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3959006"},{"teacherId":8685175,"projectId":9241559,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations towards these Manga books for my students! They have been an absolute hit in the classroom! \r\n\r\nDeveloping strong reading habits starts with finding interest in reading itself; and with the constant entertainments of smart phones available we are seeing reading interest plummit. This ultimately leads to lower reading comprehension abilitites, diminished vocabularly and more. \r\n\r\nHowever, research, and my own personal experience, has shown once a child starts reading for fun, they develop strong reading habits and start to counter act all of those things described above! \r\n\r\nThanks to you, my students have found excitement in reading as they see their favorite anime shows in novel form with these manga! Honestly, I've had students already finish all of the manga I've got, in just the first quarter of the school year! So thank you for helping make this happen.","fullyFundedDate":1746552907236,"projectUrl":"project/manga-reads-for-class-library/9241559/","projectTitle":"Manga Reads for Class Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rahill","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8685175"},{"teacherId":2850300,"projectId":8767703,"letterContent":"Through the \"Creative Print Designers\" program, students had the unique opportunity to explore the world of graphic design by creating an array of visually engaging projects, such as bookmarks, posters, flyers, infographics, and greeting cards, among others. This cohort primarily consisted of language learners from diverse backgrounds, many of whom had minimal formal education, making this initiative their first foray into graphic design. \r\n\r\nAt first, the students were overwhelmed, as it was their first time they engage in such learning activities. However, once they were equipped with the necessary tools and guidance, their enthusiasm surged, and they began to flourish creatively. The transformation was remarkable—what started as hesitation quickly evolved into confidence and innovation. \r\n\r\n It's noteworthy to share that we utilized Canva, a user-friendly design platform, to facilitate their creative processes. This tool not only helps empower students to craft aesthetically pleasing designs across various subject matters but also provides the essential skills in digital design. By engaging \"Creative Print Designers\" students have gained valuable life-long skills that can be used in future educational and professional endeavors. \r\n\r\nBy the end of the program, students had not only created tangible artifacts but had also developed a newfound appreciation for design as a mode of self-expression and communication. Although I was unable to submit photos showcasing their specific projects, I included images that illustrate the essence of their achievements through collaborative activities and milestones reached within the program.","fullyFundedDate":1726692779467,"projectUrl":"project/creative-print-designers/8767703/","projectTitle":"Creative Print Designers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. A.
