I have loved providing support for all the classrooms in my school (prek-5th grade) where I am leading community circles and supporting children individually and in small groups needing extra social emotional guidance. We all have so much fun learning to mindfully listen to one another, self-manage our feelings and emotions through body scans, mindful breathing techniques, doing partner yoga poses like \"keep a friend afloat\" boat pose and community tree poses. We've also practiced using the peace process to solve their own conflicts and wrote letters of kindness to others in their school community. The children tell me that they are feeling peaceful and calm after our mindfulness circles. They tell me solving their own problems make them feel better. The feedback I get every day from the children say so much as to how much this is needed. \r\nI also hear them tell me that they do get stressed in their lives, and using body scans, tense and release or breathing techniques really help them through hard times. Getting this feedback on how the children are feeling better is exactly what I hoped for! When they are using these research supported strategies to manage stress, and the difficult times in their lives all on their own, we are making an impact for a future of healthier adults.\r\nI feel grateful and honored to be the messenger of this important social emotional wellness to support our children, and teachers. Thank you, so much, for helping me get to this opportunity.
