You wouldn't think so, from the outside looking in. I am at an urban school district with low SES students. I was moved 5 minutes down the road due to low class size and I cried my eyes out! \r\n\r\nHowever, after two years here, I can finally call it home and think that I will retire from this school. I say this because this morning, I had to run out to get a gift bag for a gift for our social workers and school counselor. I was not afraid to go to the local Family Dollar to get some gift bags. I remember how comfortable I felt, although the store was an eyesore and pretty run down. When I got inside, I had to pay with exact change because they didn't have any. I remember a colleague of mine asked me last year to go out to get gift bags. She did not feel comfortable leaving the parameters of our school; I did. I am built for this.
