During our novel studies, they've become eager to dive into each chapter, often asking if we can read \"just one more chapter.\" Our class discussions have grown deeper and more meaningful as students are not only talking about friendship and empathy but also learning to read between the lines and make thoughtful inferences.\r\n\r\nWhat started as simple conversations about characters and their choices has blossomed into rich discussions about real-world connections and emotions. I've seen students who were once hesitant readers now confidently share their ideas and interpretations with the class.\r\n\r\nThe science-themed stories, in particular, have had a huge impact. As fifth graders preparing for the Science STAAR test, my students are now approaching scientific concepts with curiosity and understanding. They're making connections between what they read and what they learn in science class, which has helped solidify their knowledge in a fun and engaging way.\r\n\r\nThis project has made reading a joy, not just an assignment. I am grateful to have the support of the Donors Choose community because of donations that helped kick off the school year and make the first nine weeks organized and successful. \r\n\r\nThis project included student planners for daily use.
