Each week we have volunteers from our neighboring Junior High School come to spend 30 minutes with my kindergarten friends. During that time, these Junior High students are teaching my kindergartners how to play the games you donated. They are learning to play Candyland, UNO, Chutes and Ladders and Hi Ho Cherrio! The laughter and excitement I see and hear every Tuesday morning is priceless.\r\n\r\nMy students are learning so many life-long skills while playing these games. They are learning to take turns, to be happy for their peers when they win, to be ok with not winning every time. The games provide practice with number recognition and color identification. The communication skills that they are developing will help them throughout their lives.\r\n\r\nYou also provided a listening center for my students. This donation may seem a bit old-fashioned, as it includes a CD player and 6 headphones with a jack that can connect all the headphones to the CD player. But, my students have loved listening to different stories while following along with a physical book. I love that they can hold the book in their hands and enjoy the colorful pages while listening to an exciting story. It reminds me of my childhood with cassette tapes and books! There is something magical about handling a physical book and turning the pages. My students are experiencing that magic every time we use the listening center. Thank you!\r\n\r\nYour kindness and generosity has done so much for the students in my classroom. Many students, years from now, will benefit from your gift. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.","fullyFundedDate":1761243763601,"projectUrl":"project/come-play-with-us-mrs-prouds-class-lo/9826642/","projectTitle":"Come Play with Us!
