The kids helped to unpack the boxes and set the stools around while testing them out. This immediately led to a Class Meeting where the students decided how to fairly distribute the stools among the groups. \r\n\r\nWith the stools at the table groups, the second step in the process was deciding how the stools would be shared among the 6 kids at the group and how to keep track of it. I gave each group time to meet and make their own decisions on how they felt it was most fair. It was so interesting because each group did it a little differently, but everyone was happy with the outcome. Giving the decision-making power over to the students and letting them decide on the guidelines for the stools added an extra level of excitement and ownership around the project.\r\n\r\nI am happy to report that every student in our class is benefitting from this project. Every student gets a chance to utilize the wobble stools multiple weeks per month. It feels like a luxury to have seating that allows kids to move without being disruptive. \r\n Thank you for supporting this project!","fullyFundedDate":1738005396489,"projectUrl":"project/help-my-students-create-change/8948239/","projectTitle":"Help My Students Create Change","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Carlson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8148628"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_100802","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":338,"numTeachers":17,"percentFrplEligible":36,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":72,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"19.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":89.2,"schoolId":100802,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lowell Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Lowell Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/bellingham-school-district-501/lowell-elementary-school/100802"}
