The moment the stand arrived, my students realized that science is something they can touch, draw, speak, and share together—no matter what language they are learning.\r\n\r\nIn our recent lesson on changing landforms and erosion, the whiteboard stand became a powerful tool. Students gathered around it, drawing how water can erode sand and chalk in our investigation models. One student drew a sand dune while another drew a cliff. A third student labeled the drawing in English and Vietnamese, and a fourth added a sentence in Spanish. The stand allowed every child to stand tall, choose a marker, and show their thinking to others like a real scientist.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the stand, their reaction was priceless—\r\n\"Wow! We can all see it!\"\r\n\"Can I draw the mountain?\"\r\n\"It's like science TV!\"\r\nThey took turns demonstrating their ideas, and students who are usually quiet were suddenly pointing, drawing, and explaining with confidence.\r\n\r\nThe stand is helping my multilingual students participate in science in ways I've never seen before. It gives them space to use drawings, labels, gestures, and language side by side, which supports English learners while celebrating their home languages. It has created a shared space where ideas come to life, one marker line at a time.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are exciting. We are starting a new unit where students will model wind and water erosion using sand and chalk. The whiteboard stand will be the center of our learning again—students will draw predictions, record observations, and reflect on what they discover. Each student planted a green bean seed and placed their pot under the grow lights. Every morning, the first thing they do when they walk into the STEAM room is run straight to the garden shelves and check on \"their baby plant.\" They've started measuring growth, drawing observations, and talking to their plants like little scientists. One student told me, \"Mr. Le, my plant listens to me!\" Another proudly announced, \"Look! Mine grew overnight!\" This excitement and joy would not have been possible without you.\r\n\r\nThe grow lights have also given our indoor garden a calm, peaceful atmosphere that supports all learners — including my IEP students and those who struggle with focus or emotions. The soft glow of the lights and the gentle routine of watering and observing has become a favorite part of our classroom day.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue observing how plants change over time, record data in plant journals, and eventually move some of our seedlings to the outdoor school garden. Thanks to people who donated, that stress and worry about headphones for the classroom went away. \r\n\r\nWe use iPads and Laptops almost everyday to do iReady math and reading, Seesaw, and RAZ kids. These apps support their learning in ways that suit them and at their pace. Their devices can be used without headphones but with them, they stay more focus on their own work.
