They wanted to switch their regular, plastic chairs for the metal stools. Anything new in the classroom is exciting when most of the furniture is old and used by many.\r\n\r\nHaving extra space for students is a must-have in any classroom. Having extra stools to fit around a small, collaborative desk allows students to spread out. Sometimes using the stools helps students take a break from their regular table groups and they are then able to focus and complete their work on time. \r\n\r\nStudents are also able to meet with a small group to work on projects, such as their Washington State Regions posters. In the near future, students will be working on a project called, \"Geometry City,\" where they have to build a city with certain angles and geometric shapes. They will love the extra space when they work with their partner.\r\nThanks so much!","fullyFundedDate":1761443126904,"projectUrl":"project/sturdy-seats-for-small-groups/9850866/","projectTitle":"Sturdy Seats for Small Groups","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Holland","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1094770_orig.jpg?crop=2137,2137,x0,y192&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760543801706","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-holland"},{"teacherId":1094770,"projectId":9831781,"letterContent":"I want to express my sincere thanks for all the donors who made this project possible. Most of my students haven't used any sort of wobble stool in a classroom before. Together, we set up a weekly schedule where students get to have a chance to use the stool at least once a week. Some students would love to use it every day! \r\n\r\nWhen they first saw the stools, they cheered and were eager to get started using them. When I talk to my students about how they feel using the wobble stools, they often express how much it helps them focus and complete their work. Students feel empowered when they are using the stools. When their stool day arrives, they quickly switch out a regular chair with whoever used the stool last.\r\n\r\nMy next steps are to survey the class to see what else might help them focus better in class, especially when sustained work effort is needed.
