The boards and erasers are especially helpful during small group instruction because students can easily show their work revise it and receive immediate feedback.\r\n\r\nStudents were immediately excited and eager to use their new whiteboards and erasers. They were highly engaged and motivated and even typically reluctant learners were more willing to participate the boards made learning feel more hands-on and low pressure and encouraged students to take risk. Try new strategies and ensure they're thinking with confidence.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are focused on deepening students understanding of area in math. Students will use the grid side of the whiteboards to break apart complex shapes into smaller rectangles in order to find the total area the visual and interactive approach supports conceptual, understanding and help student students clearly see how decomposing shapes leads to more accurate problem-solving. The whiteboards and erasers allow students to model adjust and explain their thinking in real time, strengthening both mass skills and mathematical discourse.","fullyFundedDate":1763617101596,"projectUrl":"project/beyond-the-surface-portable-whiteboard/9739625/","projectTitle":"Beyond the Surface: Portable Whiteboard Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Fleming","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2835671_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1540610450049","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-fleming12"},{"teacherId":6857443,"projectId":9195817,"letterContent":"Wow, what a difference quality walkie-talkies makes! When we can't rely on our equipment working properly, it puts our entire school community at risk. While these radios aren't thousands of dollars, the cost of them is prohibitive for me to purchase with my small building budget.
