Students were so excited to see the boxes arrive with all of the science supplies. They had fun watching me unpacking everything and trying to figure out what we were going to be doing. \r\n\r\nOne of the first activities we did were the owl pellets. Typically, when the kids hear what owl pellets are they get grossed out. Then once they start to take the pellets apart and find the bones, they get excited. It is so much fun to hear the conversations that happen while they work.\r\n\r\nAs the weather warms up, the other materials will be incorporated into lessons. We will be creating Alka-Seltzer rockets, learning about UV rays by creating bracelets that have UV sensitive beads on them. \r\n\r\nYour donation made a difference in my classroom. Primarily it helped scaffold learning for math and reading. It allows us to use rotations and centers to get extra hands on practice of early math and reading skills. Prior to this, we had some puzzles that were missing pieces or breaking.
