With Arizona's extreme heat, especially during the late summer and early fall, indoor recess becomes a regular necessity. Thanks to you, our students now have fun, engaging options to keep them active, social, and happy even when it's too hot to go outside.\r\n\r\nThe new games have brought so much excitement and joy to our classroom. Students are learning to cooperate, strategize, take turns, and even practice a little friendly competition — all while staying cool and safe indoors. Many of my students come from families that move frequently for work, and access to books at home can be limited. Because of this, having a rich collection of engaging, age-appropriate books in our classroom is incredibly meaningful. These new resources are helping us build a strong foundation for early literacy while also creating a sense of stability and comfort for our students.\r\n\r\nWhen the books first arrived, the students' reactions were immediate and joyful. As we opened the boxes together, their eyes lit up with excitement. They were eager to touch the books, look at the colorful pictures, and talk about what they saw. Some students recognized familiar objects or animals on the covers and excitedly called them out, while others quietly flipped through the pages, taking everything in. For many of them, this was a special moment—having new books that they could explore freely made them feel valued and included.\r\n\r\nWe are using these books every day during circle time, small group instruction, and independent exploration. One of the most meaningful classroom moments so far happened during a read-aloud session. I read a story with bright illustrations and simple, repetitive language. As we read together, students began to join in, repeating phrases and pointing to pictures. Some of my dual-language learners started making connections by naming objects in both their home language and English. This created a beautiful, inclusive learning moment where all students felt comfortable participating at their own level.","fullyFundedDate":1715797683738,"projectUrl":"project/explore-and-create/8406665/","projectTitle":"Explore and Create!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gastelum","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8376704"},{"teacherId":7956483,"projectId":6444747,"letterContent":"I'm so excited to share that my donation request has been fully funded — and it's all thanks to you all!
