Identifying big emotions is important for children, so they can learn how to appropriately express themselves. Their favorite resource is the mirror. I can ask them what emotion is shown and they imitate the picture provided. Visually seeing their emotions and involving the emotion cards connect to real-life situations, facial cues, and internal sensations. \r\n\r\nMy students loved opening the new resources when I showed them. We use these resources frequently because understanding and identifying emotions are goals for my students to achieve. \r\n\r\nMy next steps are to teach my students how to self-regulate. My students love the new items that have been added. They are constantly working out how to budget for what they want. It is a pleasure to watch my students decide what items they want to immediately buy with their earned tickets and then calculate the tickets they wish to hold back to save for a higher ticketed item.\r\nIn addition, my students are becoming much better at counting by tens, fives, and ones as they learn to become more efficient counters. They are becoming very efficient about figuring out the amount of tickets they have earned and how much they need to earn to buy what they want. During our ticket exchange for items, students are getting a lot of practice learning about \"change\" and how many tickets to expect back. \r\nMy students love getting rewarding for good behavior and for making good choices.
