The Post-it easel pads, dry erase markers, construction paper, pipe builders, sentence strips, highlighters, scissors, craft sticks, and other materials you funded have already made a big difference in our day-to-day learning.\r\n\r\nWe are using the large Post-it anchor chart paper in small reading groups to show the beginning, middle, and end of stories we read together. Students work in groups to retell the story, choose the most important events, and record them on their chart. They then use markers and highlighters to add details about characters, setting, and problem/solution. These anchor charts stay posted around the room and serve as visual reminders of key reading skills. In math, students use the dry erase markers and place-value materials to model numbers and solve problems, then share their thinking on the easel pads so the whole class can see different strategies.\r\n\r\nWhen the supplies first arrived, my students were immediately drawn to the bright construction paper, kid-sized scissors, and colorful craft sticks. They were so excited to know these materials were \"for our projects.\" One student told me, \"It looks so fun!\" and that sense of pride has carried into their work. The pipe builders and sentence strips have also become favorite tools for building models and creating labels for our group charts.\r\n\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made our classroom more engaging, hands-on, and student-centered. My students and I are truly grateful that you chose to support us.","fullyFundedDate":1755745638045,"projectUrl":"project/from-ideas-to-creations-inspiring-stude/9627388/","projectTitle":"From Ideas to Creations: Inspiring Student Expression","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hutchison","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9780898_orig.jpg?crop=975,975,x178,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1737554350455","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9780898"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_109354","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":566,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":93,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":68,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":60.9,"schoolId":109354,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Linda Childers Knapp Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Linda Childers Knapp Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arkansas/springdale-public-schools/linda-childers-knapp-elementary-opening-fall-16-/109354"}
