My students rely on sensory and movement supports throughout the day, and having a calm-down corner and movement center has given them more tools to help them regulate and return to learning.\r\n\r\nWhat's been most exciting is seeing students enjoy these supports. Students can request when they need a break and will request to go to the calm-down/movement area. After using the space, they are much more able to refocus and rejoin instruction. Students are having more successful transitions, especially after taking a sensory break, and are better able to move from one task to another.\r\n\r\nOverall, these materials have helped create a calmer, more supportive classroom environment where students are better able to regulate, transition, and access learning throughout the day.
