My students have loved getting to explore all the possibilities Ozobot Evo has to offer. So far their favorite activity has been coding Ozobot Evo to go through a maze. First students had to solve some division problems to figure out the correct code. Then they had to match the correct code to the maze map. On the maze map, students then had to draw the color code correctly. If students completed all the steps correctly then their Ozobot Evo would make it to the end of the maze! \r\n\r\nOzobot has provided such an approachable and intuitive way for students to engage in coding that is super fun! Students are sight-reading with greater accuracy, listening more carefully to one another, and taking pride in their progress. These books have also made it easier to differentiate instruction, so every child—from beginners to more advanced players—can experience success and feel challenged at the same time.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your support has given my students the message that their musical journey matters. As you know, I ordered a Lego structure of New York City. Every student who passes their weekly multiplication tests with 100% is allowed to add one piece to the structure. This is an ongoing project that promotes attendance and individual participation for a collective purpose. Students are eager to come to math intervention, they are eager to learn and show that they know their multiples. Learning their multiples increases their success of working out other math problems. Knowing their multiples also provides that automaticity to pass weekly timed tests. Students across 4th and 5th grade are working hard to reach goals. Watching the Lego structure of New York City is the greatest way to encourage this kind of math growth. Also, many students have told me that they've asked their parents to get them Lego structures to work on at home. I am excited to see all of the motivation from my students.
