Your kindness has truly transformed our classroom into a place where students feel both inspired and at home. The moment our materials arrived, there was an energy in the air that is hard to describe. My students' eyes lit up as they realized these resources were meant just for them, and that someone outside of our four walls cared enough to invest in their learning journey. That feeling is one I know they will carry with them for a long time.\r\n\r\nThe new collection of books has already made such a difference. Many of my students are still developing their confidence as readers, and having a wider variety of texts has allowed them to find stories that capture their hearts and minds. I have seen students who once hesitated to pick up a book now eagerly choosing titles and sharing them with their peers. Reading has become less of a task and more of a joy, and I know that comes directly from the gift you've given. Every time I see a student's face light up because they've connected with a character or discovered something new, I silently thank you.\r\n\r\nThe extra phonics items have also been a game-changer. Building strong foundational skills is essential in second grade, and having hands-on tools has made the learning process so much more engaging. Instead of simply practicing sounds on paper, my students are now able to manipulate letters, build words, and play interactive games that reinforce their skills in meaningful ways. These resources meet students at their level and give them the support they need to grow. Already, I am noticing greater confidence when they read aloud, and that spark of pride is priceless.\r\n\r\nPerhaps one of the most special additions to our classroom has been the rug. While it may seem simple, this rug has quickly become the heart of our classroom. It has given us a gathering spot where we can come together as a family. Each morning we begin our day sitting side by side, sharing stories, greeting one another, and setting the tone for learning. Throughout the day, it serves as a place where students feel safe to participate, collaborate, and connect. Having a physical space that signals \"togetherness\" has strengthened our classroom community in ways I didn't anticipate. It is more than just a rug—it is where friendships are formed, ideas are shared, and memories are made.\r\n\r\nYour support has gone far beyond the materials themselves. You have shown my students that their education matters and that there are people in the world who believe in their potential. That lesson is just as valuable as anything I can teach from a book. On behalf of myself and every student in our classroom, please know how deeply grateful we are. Your generosity has planted seeds that will continue to grow for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1730133463683,"projectUrl":"project/exploring-reading-in-2nd-grade/8882763/","projectTitle":"Exploring Reading in 2nd Grade","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kirton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9127612_orig.jpg?crop=652,652,x11,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1714495185463","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9127612"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_129215","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":814,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":45,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":13,"percentWhite":49,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":21,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":70.5,"schoolId":129215,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about River City Science Academy - Intracoastal on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"River City Science Academy - Intracoastal","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/duval-county-public-schools/rcsa-intracoastal/129215"}
