The mailbox organizer has transformed the way students manage their materials. Instead of papers getting lost in desks or backpacks, students now independently check their mailbox each morning for graded work, notes, and new assignments. During a recent fraction unit, students eagerly retrieved differentiated practice sheets from their mailboxes and immediately got to work without waiting for materials to be passed out. The wobbly chair has been especially powerful for students who need movement to stay focused. One student who often struggled to remain seated during independent reading time was able to gently move while reading, and for the first time, completed an entire chapter without needing redirection.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was contagious. Students were curious about the mailbox system and couldn't wait to find their names labeled on each slot. They took ownership right away, carefully organizing their papers and reminding one another to check their mailbox before dismissal. The wobbly chair quickly became a highly sought-after seating option. After we discussed how it supports focus and learning, students understood that it was a tool—not a toy—and treated it with responsibility and care.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we are continuing to build independence and stamina in both organization and learning. Students are beginning a new writing project that requires drafting, revising, and peer feedback, and the mailbox system will help keep multiple drafts organized and accessible. The wobbly chair will continue to support students who benefit from flexible seating during longer work periods, especially during writing and math problem-solving tasks. Because of your support, our classroom is more structured, inclusive, and responsive to student needs—and we are so grateful for the positive difference you've made.","fullyFundedDate":1762368781096,"projectUrl":"project/comfy-classroom/9634783/","projectTitle":"Comfy Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kirk","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9585641"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_19556","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":312,"numTeachers":23,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":15,"percentWhite":69,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"13.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":57.1,"schoolId":19556,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Springfield Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Springfield Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/indiana/michigan-city-area-schools/springfield-elementary-school/19556"}
