Because of your support, our classroom now has the SEL resources we needed—fidget tools, calm-corner materials, and sensory supports that are already making a meaningful difference.\r\n\r\nThe first moment my students saw the new materials was unforgettable. Their faces lit up with curiosity. Many of them immediately gravitated toward the calm corner, gently exploring the soft seating, breathing guides, and sensory tools. \r\n\r\nWe use the new resources every day. The calm corner has quickly become a trusted space. Students go there to check in with themselves, reflect on their emotions, and choose a strategy that helps them return to class feeling regulated and ready to learn. The fidget tools have been especially helpful for students who carry a lot of internal energy or anxiety.","fullyFundedDate":1757683160803,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-happy-healthy-and-heartfelt/9681503/","projectTitle":"Empowering Happy, Healthy, and Heartfelt Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Paulino","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10052765"},{"teacherId":8707750,"projectId":9394070,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations to my project. Thanks to you my students this year have better access to fidgets, art supplies, and a clean space. \r\n\r\nEven though we have only been in school for a few weeks, my students are already benefitting from this project. Students feel more comfortable sharing when they have a fidget to hold and use during session. Your support has made a meaningful impact on our students' learning experience, and we are truly grateful.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have become an invaluable tool for differentiation in both our English Language Arts and Spanish classes. In ELA, students are able to engage with audiobooks and reading comprehension activities at their own pace, allowing them to focus on their individual reading goals and build confidence as independent learners.\r\n\r\nIn Spanish class, the headphones have opened up new opportunities for immersive language learning. Students can listen to native speakers, practice pronunciation, and complete interactive listening tasks—something that simply wasn't possible before. Students have been able to check their work with ease. Because of this they have also been able to reflect and revise their work if they made any calculation errors. They were engrossed in the story and had lots to say about the characters and plot twists. For example, \"I was in shock when Dylan betrayed Amari!\" \"My favorite part was when Amari 'saw' Quinton. I just thought it was very cute to see her finally be able to 'see' her brother again\" \"Amari is a really strong character not just because of her powers but because of how she faces all the prejudices and doubts people throw at her\"\r\n\r\nIt was clear that students were engaged and could relate to the book. Some students even continued the series! \r\n\r\nI am thrilled to make this my new summer reading book.
