The containers are easier for their little hands to open and close and allows them to be more independent cleaning up and taking out the materials. \r\n\r\nWe are always learning and looking for new ways to be creative in our preschool classroom. We are starting a new unit on the life cycle of chickens next, and be exploring how farmers take care of different animals and crops. We're going to be using the chicken life cycle and corn life cycle diagrams you provided us. I have been able to give some away but also make sure to save them for those most in need. So far, I gave a pair of pants to a student that told me he was wearing his younger sister's pants. They were way above his ankle. I gave a pair to a student that was wearing her older brother's pants and had rolled the top over a couple of times. I noticed she has been wearing the pair I gave her quite a bit since then as well. I gave a uniform shirt to girl who is very tall for her age and whose torso is very long, causing her shirt to go up and her pants to slide down when she sits on the rug. I gave her an adult size shirt to cover this. And lastly, a family called asking if we had any uniforms for their son because somehow bleach got into their laundry and bleached everything. They were very appreciative for the pair of pants and the uniform shirt I gave them. It is a blessing to have access to these items. The stick covers softened the volume without taking away the fun of drumming, which made a noticeable difference in the classroom environment. Because the noise was more manageable, students were better able to focus, listen to instructions, and engage more deeply in the music-making process. Many students found the experience more enjoyable, and it helped create a space where everyone could learn comfortably. Students were especially excited to see their everyday drumsticks upgraded with the new covers and were eager to try them out from the moment they were introduced. The tree has never looked better than this year as this is the first year I did a Donors Choose for the tree. The various colors brighten up the tree and really make it kid friendly. It certainly has been a cold December, so far, so the need for students to wear a hat and gloves is there for sure too. Some of the pictures taken were of the students a day or two after they took from the tree, so they are wearing them, day after day.
