The addition of more wobble stools has allowed for nearly every student to have the option to use a wobble stool every day. We have created an effective rotation system that gives a new group of students the first pick of their seats each day. My students enjoy the choice and flexibility the seating offers them. Students learn effective ways to sit on the wobble stools in order to avoid falling. They now see math as fun, flexible, and creative. They know that working together with other classmates is one of the joys of math. I feel proud to think that my students will look back on 3rd grade math with memories of joy and confidence, not anxious feelings of not being a \"math person.\" \r\n Each day, we have a 30 minute block of time dedicated to math practice, beyond the regular lessons. This is the time of day that we use our games. I'm lucky to have a volunteer come into my room and she helps teach the games and facilitate the social skills required to take turns, lose and win gracefully, and persevere through new or challenging directions. \r\n Even though the games all arrived at once, I decided to slowly reveal the games to my class, ensuring the students all had turns playing each game. Then, every time I introduced a new game, it was like Christmas morning! The excitement over these math games has spread to the other teachers, grade levels, and home with my students. Many of the parents used the ideas of these games for inspiration for Christmas gifts for their 3rd graders this year.","fullyFundedDate":1725068496820,"projectUrl":"project/games-for-gains-a-math-game-library/8712962/","projectTitle":"Games for Gains: A Math Game Library","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Knowles","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6900602_orig.jpg?crop=1053,1053,x1933,y826&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724807707318","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6900602"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_39697","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":384,"numTeachers":23,"percentFrplEligible":57,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":73,"percentIndigenous":5,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"16.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":65.2,"schoolId":39697,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lincoln Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Lincoln Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/montana/great-falls-school-district-1a/lincoln-elementary-school/39697"}
