Because of your kindness, students now have access to essential supplies that enrich their daily learning experiences/ abilities in ways that go far beyond the basics. The crayons, markers, and glue sticks you provided have already become staples of our creative time, allowing students to express themselves through art, practice fine motor skills, and build confidence in their everyday abilities. The printer paper and sticky notes have helped us stay organized and prepared. \r\n\r\nBeyond academics, your donation has had a powerful impact on the overall environment and well-being of our classroom. The disinfecting wipes you included are especially appreciated, as they help us maintain a clean and healthy space where students can feel safe and comfortable every day. Additionally, the snacks you provided have brought so much joy to our students. For many children, snack time is not just a break, but an important moment to recharge, connect with classmates, and feel cared for. \r\n\r\nMost importantly, your generosity has shown our students the power of kindness and community. Even at this young age, they are beginning to understand that there are people who care about their education and want them to succeed. On behalf of our entire classroom, thank you for believing in our students and investing in their future. We also now have more storage in our classroom thanks to the storage drawers/utility cart and those colorful baskets in which they turn in assignments based on how they feel they did, which are colored red, yellow and green. \r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials they were really excited, especially when they saw a variety of brand new washable markers and the drawer cart, since some of my students didn't have a drawer for all their things. For a lot of my students, these new materials have increased their motivation for wanting to do classwork and participate in class activities. \r\n\r\nThanks to your support, we are able to continue to grow the momentum. Our next steps include continuing to incorporate all the materials into our daily lessons and expand more on collaborative and activity based learning. As we read together, students work on identifying characters and settings, retelling key events, and making predictions about what might happen next. The books also help build vocabulary and comprehension as students talk about the story and connect it to their own experiences. With the markers and poster supplies, students can extend their learning by creating visual responses to the stories, drawing characters, sequencing events, or showing their favorite part of the book. These hands-on projects help students deepen their understanding of the text in a creative way.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is very interactive and collaborative. Students listen to stories during whole-group read-alouds, work with partners to talk about what they notice in the text, and explore books together in small groups. We often pause to ask questions, make predictions, and discuss the story so students can practice thinking like readers. After reading, students sometimes create posters or small projects using the markers and supplies to share their ideas about the book. These activities allow students to express their thinking through both words and visuals.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have been especially excited about the new books because they feel proud when they recognize words or can retell the story to their classmates. Some students who are quieter during discussions really shine during our poster and project activities. They enjoy drawing scenes from the story and explaining their thinking to others. The combination of engaging books and creative materials helps many students participate in ways that feel comfortable and fun for them.","fullyFundedDate":1768084820454,"projectUrl":"project/making-reading-an-adventure/9992381/","projectTitle":"Making Reading an Adventure!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Weidemann","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6945562_orig.jpg?crop=847,847,x139,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1698955286732","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6945562"},{"teacherId":3644547,"projectId":9995127,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping fund the books for my class!
