We've been able to accomplish this through new exercise stations, new exercises, safer equipment storage, and a wider variety of weight options. We have seen a direct impact in increased participation, strength, endurance, and fitness improvement, as we've added this equipment as well. \r\n\r\nFirst, we were able to add an additional 5 exercise stations through the equipment we ordered. The new deadlift trapbars allowed us to add deadlifts back to our workouts and gave us an additional 3 stations, which gave the students more opportunities to increase their strength. We were also able to add two dumbbell stations with a safe way to store the dumbbells, and we were able to add a landmine station as well. Being able to add 5 additional stations to their workouts gives them a more complete workout, so that they are able to see more improvements in their overall strength and fitness levels, but it also allows the students to be more spread out and have less students at each station, which also gives them more opportunities to get in more reps, which also adds to their ability to increase their strength, endurance, and overall fitness levels. Increasing safe exercise stations has improved the daily workouts for our fitness classes.\r\n\r\nThe other pieces of equipment that we ordered with this project were some additional weight plates to give a greater variety of weight/resistance options. We added additional 10 lb plates, and added in some 5 lb plates, which we didn't have before. We had 10 lb plates before, and the new ones are getting used daily as well, but the 5 lb plates have been a game changer for our students. They are getting used every day throughout all of the workouts. Since we teach middle schoolers, and have a large amount of seveneth graders, we had a large group of students who could only lift the bar, and couldn't add weight and had been stuck at that resistance level for months. The addition of the 5 lb plates has allowed those students to add weight, and then work up to even adding 10-15 lb plates now that they've been able to use those 5 lb plates for several months. The confidence we've seen in this group of students has been so rewarding, and their motivation to work hard has improved as well. \r\n\r\nWe have seen so many improvements in our fitness classes due to this project getting funded. We are so thankful to those who donated. Our classes are safer, and more effective which is of course extremely important to us as teachers. The best part though has been seeing the increase in motivation and confidence in our students.
