In our classroom, everyday sounds like hallway noise, conversations, or movement can be very distracting for students with sensory sensitivities or attention challenges. These headphones give students the ability to block out distractions and fully engage in instruction, independent work, and assessments.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students is how quickly they notice the difference. Many of them have shared that the classroom feels \"calmer\" and that it's easier to concentrate when they wear the headphones. Students are more confident starting tasks, staying focused for longer periods of time, and completing their work with less frustration. The headphones have also helped create a more inclusive learning environment by giving students a tool they can independently choose when they need extra support.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially benefited from this technology, including those who struggle with sensory overload or attention regulation. One student who previously avoided independent work now eagerly asks for headphones and completes assignments with improved focus and confidence. Your donation has provided more than just a product—it has given my students comfort, independence, and the opportunity to learn at their best.","fullyFundedDate":1713668051775,"projectUrl":"project/silencing-distractions-empowering-speci/8320133/","projectTitle":"Silencing Distractions: Empowering Special Education Students with Noise-Canceling Headphones","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Valle","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4954544_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1509822366019","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msvalleclassroom"},{"teacherId":8168138,"projectId":7994786,"letterContent":"Dear Ðǿմ«Ã½ Supporters,\r\n\r\nI am incredibly grateful to Ðǿմ«Ã½ and to the State of Nevada for fully funding our lighting project. Because of your generosity, our school was able to purchase glow lights and black lights that have completely transformed the way we celebrate, gather, and build community. This project has had an immediate and joyful impact on our students, and I am proud to share how meaningful this support has been for our school.\r\n\r\nThe glow lights and black lights have allowed us to host school parties and special events that feel exciting, immersive, and thoughtfully designed for children. With the new lighting, our multipurpose space can be transformed into a vibrant environment where students feel a sense of wonder the moment they walk in. Simple decorations come alive under the lights, creating a festive atmosphere that students genuinely look forward to. These events are no longer just assemblies or parties—they are memorable experiences that students talk about long after they end.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, this project has given students the opportunity to simply enjoy being kids. In today's school environment, students work very hard academically and are often navigating many responsibilities and expectations. These school parties, enhanced by the lighting you helped provide, give them a chance to relax, laugh, dance, and connect with their peers in a positive and supervised setting. The smiles, excitement, and pure joy on their faces during these events are a powerful reminder of how important it is to create moments of fun and celebration within the school day.\r\n\r\nThe lighting has also strengthened our sense of school community. Students from different grade levels come together to share these experiences, and staff members are able to create welcoming, well-decorated spaces that feel intentional and inclusive. These events help students build positive associations with school, encouraging engagement, belonging, and school pride. A well-decorated, thoughtfully prepared party communicates to students that they are valued and that their happiness matters.\r\n\r\nI am deeply thankful that the State of Nevada chose to invest in projects like this through Ðǿմ«Ã½. This funding may seem simple on the surface, but its impact is lasting. You helped us create moments that support student well-being, social connection, and joy—elements that are just as important as academic growth. Thank you for believing in our students and for supporting opportunities that allow them to celebrate, connect, and thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1699216813587,"projectUrl":"project/stage-lighting/7994786/","projectTitle":"Stage Lighting","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Behm","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8168138_orig.png?crop=1100,1100,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1699212337847","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8168138"},{"teacherId":5433919,"projectId":9697186,"letterContent":"Thank you very much for your generous donations. With this shared understanding, families and teachers can work together to foster a positive mindset—one in which math is viewed as a productive and rewarding challenge rather than a source of stress.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you for supporting our students and helping them grow into the strongest mathematicians they can be.
