These materials have also more enjoyable ways to develop important Preschool skills, such as fine and gross motor. Some examples of this took place during our learning of the subject: pets. Students learned about a variety of animals that would be great pets. They use the magnet tiles and magnet blocks that your donation provided to create a safe enclosure for those animals to live as a pet. They used the wiki sticks to develop fine motor skills by bending the sticks to create different pets and spelling out the name of that pet. Then they learned how to spell the word 'pet' through a catchy song that they were able to use the juggling scarves to dance to. The emotion blocks have helped us see what different emotions look like and learn to recognize them in others. When we see how others are feeling, we can use our skills to help them through their emotions. Thank you again for your support in allowing us to learn about emotions and coping skills! We have a very diverse population at Steele Elementary. Our families come from every region you can think of. Along with this, come a wide variety of languages spoken. The state of Nevada requires that all English language learners be tested yearly in a language test that involves reading, listening, speaking and writing. If a student shows proficiency, they are exited from the status of English Language Learner. Every year, without fail, our most challenging part of the test is the speaking portion. Some students are not confident in their ability to convey their message through the spoken word. We practice with the students regularly and try to give them practice and confidence in their oral delivery. \r\nHowever, we have very old equipment. We have old Chromebooks and even older headphones, most of which do not have the microphone for the speaking test. The headphones that were provided are of great quality and the students found it to be a treat to use! Even though we are still working on improving their speaking skills, along with all the other domains, we no longer have to worry about how the speakers and microphone will record their performance. Many of my students expressed their joy through big smiles and eager hands reaching for the materials. The familiar sight of building pieces sparked instant engagement. Watching them light up as they explored the Magnetic Tiles Vehicle Builder and building blocks was a powerful reminder of how meaningful hands-on learning can be.\r\nWe are using these materials daily during our structured play and learning centers. One especially memorable moment came during a small group activity where students were challenged to \"build a way to move.\" With some guidance, they began creating simple cars and trucks using the magnetic tiles. Another group of students has been using the materials to engage in cooperative play. Together, they built different homes for pets. This type of play has encouraged turn-taking, sharing, and problem-solving skills that are especially important for my students as they develop social communication. \r\nBeyond creativity, these materials are actively supporting developmental goals. As students connect pieces, pull them apart, and manipulate different shapes, they are strengthening the small muscles in their hands. This directly supports their ability to complete other important classroom tasks like holding writing tools, using scissors, and managing self-help skills. Just as importantly, these activities are helping build confidence. My students are seeing their ideas come to life and are proud of their creations.\r\nThank you for giving my students the tools to explore, create, and grow. My students aren't just looking at diagrams of geometric shapes or mechanical parts on a screen anymore; they are engineering solutions. They are learning that if a design fails, they can troubleshoot the file, adjust the settings, and try again. It has turned \"mistakes\" into essential steps of the scientific method.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for the students is the speed and precision of this specific printer.
