My students in K-1 and students with special needs in many cases do not have the dexterity or the fine motor skills for the smaller materials that my 2-5 students use. The Duplo's have become a game changer. All of my k-1 students along with my students with special needs no longer get frustrated give up when they are building engineering projects. The Duplo's are so much easier for these students to create and build their designs. \r\n\r\nAs student move up higher grades they will of course graduate to smaller building materials. With a reliable, up-to-date laptop, I am able to plan more efficiently, access instructional resources seamlessly, and respond to student needs in real time without the interruptions or limitations caused by outdated technology.\r\n\r\nThe addition of a stylus has been especially impactful. It allows me to model thinking in a way that closely mirrors traditional instruction while enhancing it with digital flexibility. I can annotate texts, solve math problems step-by-step, provide immediate visual feedback, and interact dynamically with content in ways that are clearer and more engaging for students. This has been particularly beneficial for visual learners and for maintaining student attention during lessons.\r\n\r\nTogether, these tools have strengthened my ability to deliver high-quality, interactive instruction. Since receiving the materials, I've already seen a meaningful difference in how students learn and stay organized. The cubbies and storage units make it easy for students to access and return their ELA books, encouraging independence and responsibility. The dry erase boards and markers have become part of our daily routine, giving students interactive ways to practice handwriting and sentence structure. The Play-Doh sets are also being used across subjects, helping bring math concepts to life as students build tens and model addition and subtraction in a hands-on way. Together, these tools have helped create a more organized, engaging learning environment.\r\n\r\nMy students were truly excited when the materials arrived. They eagerly explored the games, tested the whiteboards, and organized their learning centers. One standout moment was watching a small group use the boards to write sentences together, happily sharing ideas and correcting their work as a team. These resources are helping students take greater ownership of their learning and boosting participation.\r\n\r\nIn the coming weeks, we'll use the whiteboards and laminated sheets for a Grand Canyon writing project where students will draft, revise, and publish their work. The items that we were able to integrate into our curriculum and daily schedule have already begun to bear fruit. Let me give you a few examples of how your sharing spirit has made a positive impact in the lives of our students.\r\n The posters that I chose have considerably brightened the walls of our classroom, while at the same time displaying basic concepts, such as the alphabet, colors, shapes, numbers, sight words, and emotions. The students loved the bright colors and pictures, and consult them during work time (shapes and colors especially!). We received two sets of books relating to our quiet corner and behavioral expectations. The \"SPOTS\" books (along with the SPOTS themselves) explore emotions and the best way to maneuver through rough times. The students really enjoy grabbing a stuffed SPOT that represents how they are feeling in any given situation. The second set of books deals with social situations and best practices. We have read and discussed several. We also received two sets of blocks that are big fan favorites. Students who earn free time or need to be redirected are enjoying them immensely. I also ordered a neat cart that contains the blocks. For our older students, we received journals to help them talk about their feelings. \r\n Thanks again for your giving hearts, they are making a difference every day for our students who struggle with big feelings and how to manage them.
