The students took on the assignment with huge excitement. We are tracking the development of a chick through the full 21 days. The suspense will continue as we study the life cycle of the chicken with the climax of hatched little chicks. We have a dedicated reading time at the end of the day and they have several books in their reading bins: a few too easy, a few just right, and a few just a little too hard to keep us looking forward to future book plans. \r\nThe students change out some of their books every week so they always have both familiar and new book choices at their fingertips. \r\nMy limited classroom library was getting stale and the students were saying they had read everything. Since we received your tremendous donation of all of these books, there is tons of new material to choose from, and the students are excited to change out their books and read something new every day! The students look forward to reading time at the end of the day now, and it's a glorious thing!! The Resin Specimen Bugs Collection and Magnifying Glasses allow them to nurture their curiosity in a safe and active way, potentially saving me from many pockets-full of worms and Roly Polies! The Magnetic Mine Blocks are also hit. My students get hyped-up when they know these are in our center rotations.\r\n\r\nMy class loves to build and create. The STEM Building Blocks and Interlocking Building Disks are additional hands-on activities that my students enjoy exploring. The Swingline Guillotine Paper Cutter has made art preparation quick and easy, allowing my students access to engaging projects which can be ready for them in minimal time. We are especially excited to use the Brinsea Mini II Advance Egg Incubator after Spring Break. We have chosen a place where they can watch the magic happen and have planned to incorporate a poster in the hall to share the progress with passers-by. Every student has the ability to pick a soft cushion every morning to place on their chair. They also have found they enjoy sitting on them while they use floor space to complete activities.\r\nI was able to also purchase a floor reclining chair and two new wobble seats. This gives a much better ratio on flexible seating.\r\n I will not be receiving part of my order until next fall due to the scholastics News being a full year subscription. I cannot wait to share the science portion along with the current events with my students while they enjoy their comfortable seats. The headphones are also a big help. Students use them to listen to audiobooks and to hear translations and instructions on their Chromebooks, which lets them learn on their own and feel more confident.\r\n\r\nYour gift is helping our students feel supported, included, and able to learn. My students can keep their binders more organized and keep their papers from getting lost.\r\n\r\nOur new games are being used for vocabulary instruction and reinforcement.
