Your donation to our classroom project has made a quiet but powerful difference in the daily lives of our students, and we want you to know exactly what your generosity has made possible.\r\n\r\nWith the felt-tip pens, ballpoint pens, and index cards your gift helped provide, our students now have the foundational tools that make learning feel possible. These are not simply supplies — they are instruments of confidence. Students use the felt-tip pens for annotation, journaling, creative thinking, and planning. The index cards have become a classroom staple for self-quizzing, peer review, and building the kind of study habits that carry students far beyond our walls.\r\n\r\nWhen a student reaches into their bag and finds what they need, something shifts. The barrier disappears. The work begins. Your donation made that moment happen — over and over again, for student after student.\r\n\r\nYour support also addressed something our students rarely talk about but quietly struggle with: period poverty. Before this project, some of our students — particularly our young women — faced the very real possibility of missing class or withdrawing from participation simply because they lacked access to menstrual hygiene products at school.\r\n\r\nWith the feminine hygiene pads your donation helped fund, we now keep a discreet, well-stocked supply available so that no student ever has to choose between their health and their education. The message we are able to send because of you is simple and profound: every student belongs here, every day, without exception.\r\n\r\nThese two goals — academic tools and personal dignity — are deeply connected. A student who feels prepared and respected is a student who participates, who tries, who grows. You did not just donate supplies. You invested in the whole student: their mind, their confidence, and their sense of belonging in our classroom.\r\nWe are deeply grateful. Thank you for seeing our students, believing in their potential, and choosing to make a difference. Your impact will be felt long after these pens run out and these cards are filled — in the habits formed, the grades earned, and the confidence carried forward.","fullyFundedDate":1773760878614,"projectUrl":"project/crossing-the-finish-line-this-school-yea/10118188/","projectTitle":"Crossing the Finish Line this School Year","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Paul","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9172332_orig.jpg?crop=4000,4000,x1100,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762787548307","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sierra-paul"},{"teacherId":9172332,"projectId":10044940,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, our speech and drama students now have something they never had before: the space and tools to prepare for performances with confidence and independence. Before your gift, students crowded into a single small dressing room before competitions, showcases, and performances—rushing through the very rituals that help them step into their roles with poise. Now, with 10 portable, rechargeable lighted mirrors, they can get ready anywhere: in classrooms, hallways, and performance venues. Each mirror features adjustable brightness and three lighting options, so students can check makeup, hair, facial expressions, and overall stage readiness under any conditions they'll encounter in competition or on stage. You helped make that possible.\r\nYour support means more than a practical upgrade—it sends a message to our students that their preparation matters and their craft is worth investing in. These slim, foldable, USB-rechargeable mirrors travel with students wherever they perform, giving them flexibility, professionalism, and the quiet confidence that comes from being truly ready. Every time a student opens one of these mirrors before walking on stage, your kindness is part of that moment. Thank you for believing in our program and for helping our students shine—no matter where they're getting ready.","fullyFundedDate":1770574816829,"projectUrl":"project/light-up-our-character-make-up-looks/10044940/","projectTitle":"Light up our Character Make-Up Looks","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Paul","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9172332_orig.jpg?crop=4000,4000,x1100,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762787548307","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sierra-paul"},{"teacherId":9172332,"projectId":9866582,"letterContent":"In my classroom, students are learning far more than academic skills. They are learning how to manage their daily lives, care for themselves, and support one another. These skills are just as essential as reading, writing, and speaking—and they flourish best in an environment where students feel comfortable, supported, and cared for.\r\n\r\nThe Learning and Living Project helps make that environment possible by providing simple but powerful classroom essentials. Tissues help keep our shared space clean and healthy. Index cards support organization, studying, and speech preparation. Snacks give students the energy they need to stay focused during long class periods and performance practices.\r\n\r\nWhen students' basic needs are met, they are able to concentrate more fully, participate more confidently, and engage more deeply in learning. Comfort and care remove barriers, allowing students to show up as their best selves—academically and personally.\r\n\r\nYour donation directly supports this balance of learning and living. I created this project early in the year before I came to understand that Harding Charter Preparatory High School only allows teachers to teach the material covered by the Advanced Placement test. They do that even though only about 10% of their students take the test, and even less pass the test. The school is comprised of only Pre Advanced Placement and Advanced Placement courses, so students have no choice and no resources for help. It is sink or swim, and most students barely tread water.\r\n\r\nI taught at Harding Charter Preparatory High School for one year after teaching at the university level for about 25 years. I can't tell you how disappointed I was in their curriculum and administration. They have an average faculty turn over of 56% each year. I watched as they replaced veteran teachers over the age of 40 with the newly credentialed. They did this to save money, then they gave the Superintendent a raise. \r\n\r\nMy hope with this project was to give my students an authentic Oklahoma experience in the Writing classroom. Even though this book is currently being used at the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University in their Freshman English classes, Harding Charter Preparatory High School will not be using the book. \r\n\r\nPlease don't spend any of your resources in supporting this school. After teaching first year university students for most of my life, I wanted to contribute to improving the local high schools. I was excited about teaching students before they got to college. The school, however, was not interested in providing a college preparatory environment; they only cared about the test. It was disappointing.","fullyFundedDate":1744212710958,"projectUrl":"project/oklahoma-history-for-oklahoma-students/9112954/","projectTitle":"Oklahoma History for Oklahoma Students","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Camacho","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9796831"},{"teacherId":9172332,"projectId":9448801,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom!
