The students have been working so hard this year on increasing their reading skills. All of the new books that we received have brought so much excitement joy. There was such a large variety of books that students have loved reading and listening to all of them. They have greatly enjoyed all of the \"I Spy\" books because it helps them to feel like successful readers even if they struggle. \r\n\r\nI have so many students in my class that come from difficult home and family situations. Often times, many of them come to school not having eaten anything. This can be especially difficult after a long weekend. This project has fund breakfast and snacks not just for some students but for all of them. Learning is so much easier when students have full bellies and are not worried about where their next meal will come from. \r\n\r\nOur class has been working really hard this year to earn tickets for our classroom store. As a result of your kind and generous donations, our classroom store has so many great new prizes and rewards. All students work hard during classroom instruction and learning time in order to earn tickets for the AMAZING store. Students are so motivated and excited to learn! The books have made us laugh and given many students a deep understanding of kindness, compassion, and empathy. The skills they are gaining will help them throughout their lifetimes. \r\n\r\nThe donated books have quickly become some of the most requested titles in our classroom. My first graders reach for them during independent reading, partner time, and even indoor recess because they connect so deeply with the characters and the feelings in the stories. These books have not only sparked a genuine love for reading, but they've also helped create a kinder, more empathetic classroom community. The YOTO audio player has been a game changer in our classroom. Many of my students do not get read to at home. When we have read-a-loud time students are enthralled with the stories that they hear. They often asks to hear their favorites over and over again. I have been able to record their favorite stories and they have unlimited access to the stories being read aloud to them. I am able to work with other students and small groups while others are engaged in reading and listening. \r\n\r\nMy class was so excited to have a \"pet\". As a result of your donations, I was able to set up an aquarium and purchase two small water frogs. Those frogs have been such a calming presence in our classroom. I can't explain how often I look over and see students looking at, doing their work by, or singing (yes singing) to those frogs. These students have loved having these frogs in our classroom and that is all due to your kind and generous donations. The positive reinforcement rewards have really helped them learn and follow the rules very quickly. \r\n\r\nThe markers and water paints have also been used for class party rewards. Our kindergarten class earns classroom points for being kind and helpful. Then, when the points have been earned, we have a class paint party.
