The students were extremely excited every time a new box showed up at our door. With each new book added to our bookshelves, it started so many conversations about the \"why\" behind the books that I chose. \r\n\r\nFrom the graphic novels to the young adult literature, this project has helped introduce my students to so many new ideas and worlds. We have extra credit assignments where students can choose to read a grade-level book outside of class, and this project has given them so many more choices that they may not have known about or been able to access previously. \r\n\r\nWith these books the students are now able to expand their horizons through fiction and non-fiction texts, and that's all thanks to you!","fullyFundedDate":1760659717509,"projectUrl":"project/mr-fishers-classroom/9828376/","projectTitle":"Mr. Fisher's Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Fisher","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10311822"},{"teacherId":10312726,"projectId":9830373,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for contributing to my classroom. I am so excited to tell you about some of the lessons I've been able to implement using our new materials.\r\nIn 10th grade, students have an entire unit on rhetorical analysis. Learning and identifying rhetorical devices can be pretty tricky; but, using our new mini white boards, we were able to do a quick-check lesson! Students followed along with the reading, and when we paused to identify a device, they wrote their answers on their white boards and held it up for a check! They had so much fun, and I got to see them get engaged and compete with each other to find the correct answer faster.\r\nIn 9th grade, students will soon be reading \"Lord of the Flies\". One of the important topics we cover is symbolism--what images have significant, symbolic meaning? To help students with their analysis, they will be building their own version of the conch shell, and writing about what their item symbolizes. The model magic enables our class to get involved in more tactile, material activities; I am so excited to see how they respond to it!","fullyFundedDate":1760664251228,"projectUrl":"project/mr-craigs-ela-classroom/9830373/","projectTitle":"Mr. Craig's ELA Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Craig","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10312726"},{"teacherId":5606651,"projectId":9820678,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, these books and supplies will help foster a love of reading in the classroom.
