The addition of the wiggle stool, magnet tiles, electrical set, Legos, microscope, Zingo Word Bingo, building straws, and marble run have made a meaningful and lasting impact on my first-grade classroom. Flexible seating options such as the wiggle stool has given students the opportunity to move while learning, helping them stay focused, comfortable, and engaged. These materials have promoted collaboration as my students work together to plan, build, test, and revise their ideas. Through hands-on exploration, students are developing critical thinking, communication skills, and confidence as they learn how to share ideas, listen to others, and solve problems as a team.\r\n\r\nMany of these resources supported engineering and STEM learning by encouraging creativity, curiosity, and perseverance. Magnet tiles, Legos, building straws, electrical sets, and marble runs have allowed my students to experiment with design, balance, cause and effect, and problem-solving in meaningful ways. The microscope has inspired wonder and scientific inquiry, while Zingo Word Bingo has strengthened early literacy skills, especially supporting my English language learners by helping them grow their vocabulary in an engaging, supportive way. \r\n\r\nThe addition of hanging fake plants helps create a calm, inviting environment that feels safe and welcoming, supporting student focus and well-being. Together, these items have transformed the classroom into a space where learning is active, joyful, and deeply connected to student growth, and I am truly thankful for the opportunity to provide my students with these meaningful tools that enrich their learning every day.","fullyFundedDate":1638135523079,"projectUrl":"project/learning-tools-to-keep-young-minds-engag/6037404/","projectTitle":"Learning Tools to Keep Young Minds Engaged and Blossoming!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Marler","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3624719_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1490367809700","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3624719"},{"teacherId":8064540,"projectId":10010063,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students now have access to a wide range of materials that make learning about emotions, coping, and self-expression fun and engaging. Many of my students are still learning to identify feelings, regulate their bodies, and practice healthy ways to cope with stress. With books (including Spanish-language titles), games, and flipbooks, students are building emotional awareness, empathy, and communication skills in ways that feel safe and exciting. Reading and discussing these texts allows them to connect stories to their own experiences, practice social skills, and reflect on their feelings.\r\n\r\nThe sand painting light box has been a wonderful addition, helping students self-regulate, along with other fidgets. Sensory tools such as weighted lap pads, sensory jar supplies, and calming stuffed animals support students who need movement or sensory input to stay focused and grounded. The LCD drawing tablet has also been invaluable during group sessions, reducing paper waste while keeping students engaged and allowing them to express themselves creatively whenever they want to draw.\r\n\r\nThese resources have transformed my classroom and continue to expand my calm corner into a welcoming, safe space where students feel seen, supported, and empowered. They are learning to identify and manage emotions, practice coping strategies, and build social-emotional skills that they can carry into the classroom, at home, and beyond.","fullyFundedDate":1768313817149,"projectUrl":"project/social-emotional-tools-for-growing-minds/10010063/","projectTitle":"Social-Emotional Tools for Growing Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Patty","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8064540_orig.jpg?crop=971,971,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1700178003976","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8064540"},{"teacherId":8064540,"projectId":9596579,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students now have access to a wide range of tools that make learning about emotions, coping, and self-expression engaging and meaningful. When the materials first arrived, the students were excited! So many explored the fidgets and sensory items in our calm corner, while others immediately picked up the books and flipcharts to learn about emotions and coping strategies. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and engagement, and how the materials naturally sparked conversation about feelings, friendship, and mental health. \r\n\r\nWe have been using the sensory tools, visual supports, and hands-on activities to help students regulate their emotions, practice mindfulness, and build social-emotional skills. For example, during a group session, students used the Purrble calming toys while reading a book about managing anger. They then practiced coping strategies from the flip charts, shared their ideas with partners, and reflected on which strategies worked best for them. These activities give students practical skills they can use when faced with challenges in the classroom or at home.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for our students are to continue building on these skills with more guided lessons and independent practice. With your support, we are creating a safe, welcoming space where students feel seen, supported, and empowered, and where they can continue to grow emotionally, socially, and academically.","fullyFundedDate":1765228941637,"projectUrl":"project/emotions-regulation-tools/9596579/","projectTitle":"Emotions Regulation Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Patty","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8064540_orig.jpg?crop=971,971,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1700178003976","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8064540"},{"teacherId":3602542,"projectId":9220269,"letterContent":"Sorry this is late.
