I've seen students choose these areas to work quietly with a peer, talk through an assignment, or take a brief moment to regulate before rejoining instruction. One moment that stands out was during a group project, when students naturally gravitated to the Zen spaces to brainstorm and problem-solve together. The calm atmosphere helped them stay focused and communicate more thoughtfully, and several students commented that they felt more comfortable sharing ideas and asking questions in that setting.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new materials, their reaction was immediate excitement and curiosity. Many expressed how grateful they were to have a space that felt welcoming and different from a traditional desk setup. Students shared that the areas made them feel trusted, relaxed, and supported, and some even said it helped them feel more motivated to come to class.
