The iPad has become one of my students' favorite tools, and they get so excited when they earn time to use it. I've loaded it with educational games and apps that reinforce the skills they're working on—math fact fluency, reading comprehension, vocabulary building, and problem-solving. What makes it so powerful is that students can choose apps that match their interests while still practicing the skills they need to develop. Some love math puzzle games, others prefer reading adventures, and a few are drawn to creative apps that build spatial reasoning.\r\n\r\nBeyond rewards, I use the iPad during small group instruction as a projector to display lessons and as a digital whiteboard to work through problems together. The large screen allows all students in the group to see clearly as I annotate math strategies, model reading skills, or diagram science concepts. It's become an essential teaching tool during guided practice time. I also use the iPad as both an incentive for good behavior and a reward for academic achievement—when students show kindness, complete quality work, or demonstrate growth, they earn iPad time. The motivation is incredible. They were so excited to have multiple seating options and it definitely helped create a space for students who had different needs for seating choices. Students need to have safe options to feel some control and also to be able to wiggle without being out of their seats. \r\n\r\nThe class had a great time using the social emotional books and cubes to open up conversations in a more natural way. They helped create relatability within a group and build up relationships for all of us as a group and also smaller groups of students. \r\n\r\nLastly, thank you for the small stuff that helps keep the classroom running smoothly. Folders, lamination packets, and storage spaces are not as exciting to students as the wobble stools but for my sanity and keeping the class organized, it was so amazing to have! The file folders are so multi-use and I am buying more for next year to continue the growth!
