Because of your donation, my students were able to use a 3D printer and learn how to design their own projects using CAD software. For many of them, this was their first time doing anything like this. Instead of just learning about concepts, they were able to actually create something from their own ideas, which made the learning feel real and meaningful.\r\nThe most exciting part for them has been watching their designs come to life. There's a lot of trial and error involved, and they've had to think through problems, make adjustments, and try again. It's been great to see them stick with it and feel proud of what they've made. Some students who don't always get excited about traditional assignments were especially into this—they were focused, asking questions, and really taking ownership of their work.\r\nThis experience has helped build their confidence and showed them that they're capable of designing and creating something from scratch. It's been a really positive addition to our classroom, and I truly appreciate your support in making it possible.","fullyFundedDate":1768522438040,"projectUrl":"project/big-ideas-little-engineers/10017142/","projectTitle":"Big Ideas, Little Engineers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Haney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10403582_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768264900442","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10403582"},{"teacherId":10101716,"projectId":10007423,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity and for believing in my students. Because of your support, our classroom has become a more engaging, organized, and hands-on learning environment where students are excited to explore every day. We are already using these resources in meaningful ways across multiple parts of our day. The STEM materials, especially the magnetic tiles and 3D shapes, have quickly become student favorites. I often bring them out during indoor recess or as a reward during earned STEM time after students complete their required work. One moment that really stood out happened just this week when my class had to be combined with another class due to our room being used for testing. Despite the change in routine, both classes were immediately engaged and excited when they saw the STEM materials. Students worked together to design and build creative structures, practicing problem-solving, collaboration, and perseverance without even realizing how much they were learning. It was such a powerful reminder of how hands-on tools can bring students together and spark joy in learning.\r\n\r\nBeyond STEM, your donations have made a huge impact on our daily routines and organization. The storage trays and rolling cart are used every single day to keep our classroom running smoothly. They help make materials easily accessible, allowing students to take ownership of their learning and transition quickly between activities. The reusable plastic envelopes have been incredibly helpful for organizing math games and differentiation activities. I can quickly grab materials for small groups, and I'm already able to save and store these resources to use again next year, making your donation impactful well beyond this school year. Our literacy time has also been transformed with the addition of new phonics materials and high-interest books. Students were thrilled when they first saw Pete the Cat and Dog Man join our classroom as reading buddies, and these characters have made reading time even more exciting and comforting. The new nonfiction animal books and phonics sets are helping students build foundational reading skills while staying engaged and curious.\r\nLooking ahead, we are excited to continue using these materials in new and meaningful ways. \r\n\r\nOne of our next projects is using the magnetic picture frames to create Mother's Day gifts, where students will design and personalize something special for their families. This will not only be a fun and creative activity but also a meaningful way for students to connect their learning to their lives outside the classroom. Your support has truly made a lasting difference in how my students learn, explore, and feel in our classroom. Thank you again for making this possible! Students are using the materials to recognize their emotions and choose tools that help them feel safe and ready to learn. We've been incorporating these resources into our social-emotional lessons, practicing strategies like deep breathing, taking breaks, and using fidget tools appropriately. One powerful moment was when a student independently chose to visit the calm down corner after becoming frustrated. They used a breathing tool and returned to the group calm, focused, and proud of themselves. It was a huge step in building independence and emotional awareness.\r\n\r\nThe excitement was immediate! Students were eager to explore each item and couldn't wait to learn how to use them. Many shared that the space made them feel \"safe,\" \"happy,\" and \"calm.\" It was clear right away that these materials would make a positive impact—not just as tools, but as a space where students feel supported and understood.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our social-emotional learning journey, students will keep practicing how to identify their feelings and choose the right strategies to manage them. We are working on building independence so students can recognize when they need a break and use the calm down corner effectively. Next, students will also reflect on their emotions and set personal goals for how they respond to challenges. Because of you, my students now have a more comfortable, engaging, and supportive learning environment that we use every single day.\r\n\r\nThe Kaplan rug has truly become the heart of our classroom. We gather on it daily for morning meetings, daily lessons, read-alouds, mini-lessons, and class discussions. The vibrant colors and fun pond design instantly make the space feel welcoming, and my students love having their own special spots. The soft seating cushions have also been a huge hit and have become a powerful incentive for positive behavior and focus. The wobble cushions have been especially helpful for my more wiggly learners, giving them a way to move while still staying engaged and focused during lessons.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, I told my students we had received donations, but I kept the big rug a surprise. When they finally saw it, they were completely in awe and so excited to choose their new spots! They were equally thrilled with the cushions, playdough mats, smaller reading nook rug, and our new books. They couldn't wait to start using the playdough mats during intervention time, and they eagerly jumped right into learning with these new tools. Every item has quickly become an important part of our daily routines.\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, my students feel more comfortable, supported, and excited to learn. Your donation has helped create a classroom where students can focus, collaborate, and grow.\r\n\r\nOur next big classroom goal is to create a classroom cookbook with family involvement. Students will be sharing favorite recipes from home, practicing writing and sequencing skills, and celebrating the diversity of our classroom community. These designated spaces provide students with the opportunity to regulate their emotions in a safe and structured way. Instead of acting out or disengaging when overwhelmed, students now have a constructive outlet to practice self-regulation skills. This proactive approach has reduced classroom disruptions, helped preserve instructional time, and supported the development of a more positive learning environment. Teachers have reported that students are able to return to learning more quickly after using the calming corners, which in turn supports academic growth.\r\nBeyond individual regulation, the calming corners have helped foster a culture of empathy and understanding across the school. Students learn that emotions are normal and manageable, and that there are healthy strategies for coping with stress, frustration, or sadness. This shared experience has encouraged greater peer support and improved relationships between students and staff. By embedding Social Emotional Learning (SEL) practices into the daily routine, Echo Loder has created a climate where students feel seen, valued, and supported not only academically but also emotionally. The calming corners have become an essential part of the school's SEL framework, contributing to a stronger, more resilient school community.","fullyFundedDate":1746787191963,"projectUrl":"project/5-classroom-calming-centers/9169944/","projectTitle":"5 Classroom Calming Centers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8107868_orig.jpg?crop=400,400,x63,y69&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1633025631535","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8107868"},{"teacherId":8147090,"projectId":9323898,"letterContent":"When our new resources arrived, my students were beyond excited!
