Because these activities felt more like challenges than traditional assignments, students were more willing to take risks, try multiple strategies, and persist through mistakes. This shift helped create a classroom culture where thinking deeply and struggling productively were valued, rather than just getting the right answer quickly.\r\n\r\nThese activities also strengthened students' critical thinking and collaboration skills. Brain teasers required students to analyze patterns, justify their reasoning, and explain their thinking clearly to others. Math games encouraged discussion, strategic planning, and peer-to-peer learning, allowing students to learn from different approaches and perspectives. As a result, students became more confident in communicating their mathematical ideas and more flexible in their problem-solving.\r\n\r\nOverall, incorporating brain teasers and math games helped students develop a more positive mindset toward math. Many students who were previously hesitant began to see math as enjoyable and accessible, which translated into improved focus, perseverance, and performance during more formal lessons and assessments.","fullyFundedDate":1699379841786,"projectUrl":"project/brain-teasers-and-in-depth-thinking/8011073/","projectTitle":"Brain Teasers and In-depth Thinking","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hendrix","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8107691"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_124337","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1206,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":21,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":53,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":30,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":68.6,"schoolId":124337,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sky Ranch Middle School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Sky Ranch Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nevada/washoe-county-school-district/sky-ranch-middle-school/124337"}
