Students are using them during notes, independent work time, and even while we're having class discussions. One moment that really stood out was during a longer lesson—students who normally struggle to stay focused were engaged the entire time just by having something in their hands to help them regulate.\r\nWhen they first saw the materials, there was a mix of excitement and curiosity. A few were surprised (in a good way!) that high schoolers were getting tools like this. After we talked about how focus and regulation don't magically stop being important after elementary school, they really embraced it. They've been mature and respectful about using them appropriately.\r\nNext, we are continuing to build routines around self-awareness and self-regulation. Students are learning to recognize what helps them focus and when they need a reset. We're also tying this into class discussions about stress management and productivity, especially as we head into getting closer to exam time!","fullyFundedDate":1762266253498,"projectUrl":"project/from-fidget-to-focus-classroom-support/9700128/","projectTitle":"From Fidget to Focus: Classroom Support Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Garcia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9140588_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1691235497316","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9140588"},{"teacherId":9281592,"projectId":8863410,"letterContent":"It is with deep gratitude that I thank you for your donation for a calming corner and activities. My new calming area is great and the students love it too! My students struggle with regulating their emotions and can get overwhelmed. A calming place to breathe and reset helps them immensely.
