Thanks to your support, our students now have access to new art supplies, computer mice, construction paper, pencils, tape, staplers, erasers and more that have brought both creativity and technology into their learning in exciting ways.\r\n\r\nJust this week, we used the art supplies to create suitcases that allowed us to decipher \"important vs unimportant\" items to bring on a trip that correlates to learning important vs unimportant information in our text! We also used our supplies to complete a STEM project where students had to create the longest paper chain possible with a piece of construction paper. We also learned about the 15th, 19th and 26th amendments by creating posters with important information that we presented to the whole class! The students were thrilled to see the wide variety of materials available to them, and their enthusiasm was contagious—they were fully engaged, sharing ideas, and proudly showing off their work as it took shape. Even our students who are usually quiet or hesitant to participate were excited to try something new with the resources you provided.\r\n\r\nThe computer mice and other tech tools have also allowed students to navigate digital projects with more independence and confidence. For example, they are currently working on a Canva assignment on the Voting Rights Act of 1964, and having the right tools makes it possible for them to fully explore their ideas with ease. \r\n\r\nYour contribution is not just providing materials—it is helping our students develop skills, confidence, and a love of learning. Our next steps will be continuing to build on these supplies by integrating their art and research into a class showcase for families in the Springtime! One of our favorite new activities has been creating affirmation posters. Students choose their favorite colors to write \"I am\" statements like \"I am strong,\" \"I am brave,\" and \"I am enough.\" Watching them take pride in their words and artwork has been incredibly moving.\r\n\r\nThe worry stones have been a quiet but powerful addition. Students with anxiety have shared how much they appreciate having something small and discreet to hold during difficult moments. It gives them a healthy coping tool they can carry with them and reminds them that they are not alone.\r\n\r\nAnd of course, the LifeSavers mints have been a surprisingly effective little treat. Not only do students love them, but they also help create a moment of pause and grounding during sessions.\r\n\r\nTogether, these resources have transformed our shared counseling space into a place where students can reset, reflect, and express themselves. Whether they're coming in for a quick check-in, a full session, or just a moment of calm, our students are welcomed into an environment that tells them: You are safe. You are supported. The also use the linking cubes in our \"Puzzle of the Week\" activities, including the Twenty Cubes Puzzle and the Skyscraper Challenge. These hand-on experiences encouraged problem-solving, logical reasoning, and teamwork while making math fun and interactive. We will continue to use these materials throughout the year.\r\n\r\nWe also used the laminating sheets and Astrobrights paper to preserve and showcase students completed puzzles. These vibrant displays lined our hallway as part of a \"Puzzled?\" showcase allowing students to share their hard work and creativity with families and the school community. The excitement and pride students felt seeing their work displayed so publicly was inspiring.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, toothpicks, wood glue and masking tape became the building blocks of our Toothpick Bridge Project. Sixth graders worked within a budget to purchase supplies before designing and engineering bridges that met specific criteria. The project culminated with a challenge to see how much weight each bridge could hold.
