These small but meaningful resources have made a big difference in our daily classroom experience. My students now use the fidget toys during design challenges to help them focus and manage their energy while brainstorming and building prototypes. The fruit snacks have become a special incentive during our hands-on STEM and design projects—like when students design emergency shelters or create food truck business concepts.\r\n\r\nThese resources have helped create a more positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where every student feels supported and ready to learn. Our next step is to keep developing teamwork and problem-solving skills through our current MYP Design unit, where students are applying creativity and empathy to real-world challenges. I choose to leave a prevalent school system and move to a school system that doe snot have funding for extra things. I wanted to be able to work with the kids that attended these schools. Give them some experiences and knowledge that they were not receiving. It is with these projects being funded that I have been able to do some extra things for them.\r\nGetting these supplies allowed me to keep my room clean, this helps keep my students at school and attendance better so they are here instead of at home. It also allowed me to start a new classroom management system for behavior which was in need. The students can earn coupons for good behavior and completing assignments. They can choose to have Comfy work time on the carpet, choose something from the snack hat, go into the drawing for the big prize at the end of the month, or get 10 min at the end of class of tech time. The items I received help me keep this going. It has really helped.\r\nI was also able to get some materials I needed for out digital design project. They kids are super excited about making there 30 second skits and recording them on a green screen with a digital background. They than get to go in and edit it so it looks \r\nprofessional. I can't wait to show you the final product when we finish.","fullyFundedDate":1740668890098,"projectUrl":"project/a-bit-above-and-beyond/9057975/","projectTitle":"A Bit Above and Beyond","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Presutti","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9744987_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726179782388","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9744987"},{"teacherId":9121871,"projectId":8991465,"letterContent":"These new resources greatly impacted my students reading comprehension. When we started our new class novel, the students were able to follow along with what was being read aloud to them via the screen. Other students were able to follow along with the use of the line readers, so they were able to stay on track. The caddies were a great help in making sure all students had access to the class novel, the line readers, and pencils to complete their work. \r\n\r\nWith these resources, I was able to see engagement increase, as well as reading comprehension increase. \r\n\r\nMy students were very grateful when they received these tools at the beginning of this unit. This incredible piece of technology has transformed our makerspace into a mini design lab where students can take ideas from sketches to tangible products.\r\n\r\nIn our \"My Company, My Rules\" unit, students created their own companies, designed products, and then used the laser cutter to bring their ideas to life—engraving logos, cutting custom packaging, and even crafting keychains, signs, and simple tools. For many of our students, this was their first time working with professional-grade technology, and the moment their design was etched into wood or acrylic was nothing short of magic.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for students? Seeing their digital work become something they can hold in their hands. One student, who normally shies away from group projects, became the go-to laser cutter expert—helping peers adjust their files and load materials. This kind of hands-on learning has not only taught technical skills but has boosted confidence and leadership in ways we didn't expect.\r\n\r\nThe Creality Falcon 10W Pro has made a lasting impact by turning abstract ideas into physical reality. It has helped our students see themselves as creators, problem-solvers, and even future entrepreneurs.
