As a first year teacher my main priority is to make sure the kids feel safe, loved, and comfortable in my classroom. Although stools may feel like a small change to the classroom it has heavily impacted small group instruction in my room. Before students were using regular chairs and we were very crammed at the table. Students now have a comfortable spot in which they can all fit around my table and have their own comfortable space. We use these chairs every day both at my small group table or as other flexible seating throughout my classroom.\r\n\r\nWhen the chairs first got delivered the students were very excited to have something new to use and were asking questions about where they were from and when they would get to use them. This sparked a conversation about those who take the time and effort to contribute to our classroom to make it better. We have been focusing on kindness in our classroom, and this was a great way to incorporate an example of kind hearted people who are willing to help school communities and classrooms.\r\n\r\nAs a first year teacher it is hard to supply all the materials we need in the classroom. Your donation has truly made an impact and we will continue to use these stools everyday in our room.
