It's also great because I have codes where I can post everything online on the big screen in the classroom for students to see while I'm instructing. They show evidence of math strategies being used and don't have to rely on paper. It's fun for them to erase mistakes easily and a great way to use as an \"exit slip\" to show understanding of the concept taught.\r\n The large sized number line is such a great visual. They immediately confiscated the books and found a friend to read with. The books were great at allowing them to have discussions with critical thinking and making decisions dependent on their background knowledge or experiences. I loved seeing them be engaged with reading and showing stamina too.\r\n Once the books were introduced to our library, the majority of students wanted a chance at the books. This action influenced the rest of their peers to test out the books too. Overall, these books were such a success in our classroom and impacted our learning experience. Seeing kids be excited about learning through reading makes me want to continue finding resources that provides them with the love of reading. The stories sparked their sense of adventure and helped them make meaningful connections to their own lives. Since they are especially interested in make-believe and mysteries, these books were a perfect introduction to higher-order thinking and encouraged them to connect and share ideas with their peers.\r\nI was able to observe students engaging in rich conversations, expressing their opinions and insights about the different choices presented in the books. It was wonderful to see how a strong classroom book series can encourage reading; once students enjoyed one book in the series, they were more likely to choose another and even invite classmates to read with them.\r\n Having these engaging new books in our classroom has encouraged students to read more frequently and more independently. I have seen them grow as decision-makers, using evidence to support their thinking, connecting their background knowledge to discussions, and demonstrating increased reading stamina. Most importantly, they are finding joy in reading and choosing to seek it out on their own. Many students even extended their learning by creating their own adventure \"add-ons\" inspired by the books they had read, showing creativity and initiative. Thank you for providing resources that have inspired such enthusiasm, independence, and imagination in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1772553900232,"projectUrl":"project/life-is-an-adventure/10047427/","projectTitle":"Life Is an Adventure!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Nguyen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4714404_orig.jpg?crop=250,250,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1776220669478","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4714404"},{"teacherId":4714404,"projectId":10047772,"letterContent":"My students were ecstatic when they got their hands on the whiteboards. They enjoyed using whiteboard markers on the math boards because they no longer had to constantly record each math model in their notebooks. This allowed them to focus more on solving the math problem rather than drawing diagrams. As a result, they had more time to discuss and explain their thinking with their teammates.\r\n\r\nThey also used the place value whiteboards as exit slips to demonstrate evidence of their learning, and as tools for playing math games. It was exciting for them to move away from notebooks and use a different medium to record and show their understanding.\r\n\r\nMy students also loved using the large number line on the floor. As second graders, they enjoy learning through movement, making this tool especially engaging. It helped them more effectively practice strategies such as skip counting, adding on, and counting backwards. Because the number line was large and visual, students were highly engaged and were able to physically move along it to better understand number sequences. Overall, my students are using both tools with enthusiasm and are demonstrating positive learning interactions and deeper mathematical understanding.","fullyFundedDate":1770647767546,"projectUrl":"project/amazing-whiteboards-for-math/10047772/","projectTitle":"Amazing Whiteboards for Math!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Nguyen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4714404_orig.jpg?crop=250,250,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1776220669478","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4714404"},{"teacherId":9876845,"projectId":10092620,"letterContent":"Hello, \r\n\r\nI want to thank you for donating to my school library.
