In small, consistent groups, students meet regularly to compare texts and support claims with evidence, strengthening academic vocabulary and discourse skills. Your generosity sparked instant joy—when students first saw the goals, they absolutely lit up. We've been waiting for goals like these for years, and our district didn't have the resources to purchase them, which is why your support matters so much. Even as we wait for installation, excitement is buzzing: students are practicing indoors, organizing lunchtime games (we regularly see 30–40 players), and already planning World Cup–style teams for a spring tournament.\r\n\r\nWe did encounter a small hiccup with installation: we accidentally ordered permanent, in-ground goals rather than freestanding ones. In the end, this is a win—especially for middle schoolers—because once cemented, these goals are far safer and won't tip if students hang on them. Because the ground is frozen and the work requires a district work order, installation will happen in the spring when conditions improve. In the meantime, our 8th and 9th graders are gearing up for spring soccer tryouts, and those who don't make the team will still play alongside freshmen and sophomores, ensuring everyone has a place on the field.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these permanent goals will be a true community asset. Beyond daily play and school matches—including a friendly against another middle school—we'll welcome neighbors to Joel P. Jensen for pickup soccer, strengthening our connection with families and the wider community. We are deeply grateful for your support and can't wait to share photos once the goals are installed this spring. Thanks to you, the beautiful game will have a safe, permanent home here.","fullyFundedDate":1758820241489,"projectUrl":"project/empower-students-through-the-beautiful-g/9396741/","projectTitle":"Empower Students Through the Beautiful Game: Permanent Metal Soccer Goals","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Counselor Rob","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9190496_orig.png?crop=311,311,x0,y156&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1692116575623","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/robthecounselor"},{"teacherId":7391872,"projectId":9513240,"letterContent":"These materials have helped my students have fun and stay engaged while working toward achieving their speech and language goals. The canvas bags allow students to store their projects without anything getting lost or tangled. The loom knitting sets allow a very easy alternative for the students who have never done anything with yarn before. \r\n\r\nTheir projects are really coming along.
