This helps ensure that the technology will last longer and remain available for students to use during lessons and activities.\r\n\r\nThe Apple Pencil has also been incredibly helpful in allowing me to model lessons more effectively, annotate examples in real time, and demonstrate concepts visually for my students. Being able to write, draw, and explain directly on the screen has made instruction clearer and more engaging, especially for my English Learners who benefit greatly from visual support.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students have greater access to technology that supports their learning, creativity, and participation in class. With the new equipment, my students are able to move beyond theory and actively test their ideas through hands-on investigation. Instead of simply discussing concepts, they are measuring, observing, and analyzing real data. One recent class period stood out in particular—students were deeply focused, comparing results and revising their thinking based on what they observed. The level of engagement and academic conversation was noticeably higher.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were excited and curious. Many immediately wanted to explore how everything worked and asked thoughtful questions about how they would use the tools in upcoming labs. There was a clear sense of ownership and pride knowing that these resources were specifically for them. It created an atmosphere of responsibility and professionalism in our classroom.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue using these tools in more advanced investigations and design challenges. They will collect data, look for patterns, and construct explanations supported by evidence. Third period has an especially late lunch, and before we had consistent snacks available, I saw students struggling to focus or occasionally skipping class or arriving late because they were trying to find food. Now, they come in, grab a snack, and settle into their work right away. It has genuinely shifted the tone of the class. I intentionally chose a variety of healthier snacks, which has opened up conversations about ingredients, protein, and energy. They are small but meaningful moments that connect to our biology content about how our bodies use macromolecules for fuel.\r\n\r\nThe impact goes beyond third period. I'm also able to offer snacks to students who come in for after-school help, which makes our classroom feel like a safe and welcoming place to land. Meeting students' basic needs, especially hunger, has a direct effect on their ability to focus, participate, and think critically. I've seen students who might otherwise put their heads down instead engage in labs, discussions, and group work because they aren't distracted by an empty stomach. Your support has strengthened not just our academic environment, but our classroom community. Thank you for helping create a space where students feel cared for, supported, and ready to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1764870453893,"projectUrl":"project/student-fuel/9588411/","projectTitle":"Student Fuel","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bainsmith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2492071_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1503838985451","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2492071"},{"teacherId":10171476,"projectId":9581453,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the tablet donation! This has made an incredible difference in the learning experience for my multilingual learners (MLLs).\r\n\r\nThere are many lessons where my MLLs need a small boost to get started, and the tablets allow them to quickly look up key words when they get stuck. I've seen a dramatic decrease in phone use because students now rely on the tablets to look up new vocabulary instead of using their personal devices. I've also noticed an increase in communication with their peers, as students are able to use the tablets to help ask questions and participate more confidently in group work.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, this support has been incredibly helpful. The tablets allow me to provide all students with the level of scientific rigor they are capable of handling, rather than having to consistently give my MLLs lower-level worksheets or simplified readings. Most multilingual learners are fully capable of higher-level scientific thinking; they simply need access to instructions or new vocabulary in their own language.\r\n\r\nI have included a few photos showing a project my students recently completed using the tablets. Students were given information about a species we are studying and were asked to create a PSA poster focused on a specific threat to that species. My MLLs were able to translate the reading using the tablets and then create their posters in English. Without the tablets, the reading alone would have taken the entire class period, and the learning goal of communicating scientific information would not have been achieved.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making such a meaningful difference in my classroom and in my students' learning experiences.","fullyFundedDate":1763596531701,"projectUrl":"project/tablets-for-mlls/9581453/","projectTitle":"Tablets for MLLs","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Capra","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10171476"},{"teacherId":10229848,"projectId":9660679,"letterContent":"We thank you so much for gifting toward our program.
