I'd like to focus on the Understanding Exposure book in particular. I graduated from the same school I teach in and I vividly remember being a photography student countless years ago and reading Understanding Exposure while beginning to fall in love with photography. That book was an integral part of my journey in understanding exposure (no pun intended), lighting , aperture settings, shutter speeds, and ISO film speeds. So hopefully you can imagine the absolute *magic* of providing an updated revision of the same book as I help my Film Production students discover those same principals in the same fantastic book.\r\n\r\nJust yesterday, I sat with a pod of three students who were each preparing to film a story about a student group on campus and the objective was to capture them in a cinema verité documentary style, which requires a very shallow depth of field. We all sat down with copies of Understanding Exposure and just talked about each image and how the camera settings of the image contributed to the specific looks of each photo. Students were engaged, asking questions, and more than anything else--they were *interested* in learning about photography because the book made it so easy with such beautiful images to analyze. \r\n\r\nThanks again for your incredibly kind gesture and my students and I are infinitely grateful.
